Yay!!! That is great news :joy: How do you go about scheduling the interview? Did they email you package 3 and 4 or email your fiancee?

Our case left NVC today,, finally.. 17 days there. I found out that they randomly pick cases to undergo "administrative processing" and run additional background checks on and my case was picked. :sleepy:

So glad to be moving forward :joy:

Sorry I took so long. Just found out my phone was sending all the emails from Visa Journey to my spam. Ridiculous!

I called the Embassy in Johannesburg 2 days ago because I hadn't received packet 3. The consultant said they email the package to the Petitioner. And then the Petitioner needs to send it to the Beneficiary. I told them I never received it so they personally emailed it to me while we were talking on the phone. I was told per instructions on the forms of what I needed and to send them a DS 160 (Online form) and a DS 2001 (Notification of Readiness). They didn't attach a DS 2001, so I found one online, filled it in and sent it just now with the confirmation page of my DS 160 to the given email address. So now all I do is wait on packet four. Seems they do it all via email. It's faster.

Any news that JHN has received your case? I can't get a flight home till 21 September. I asked to have my email scheduled after my arrival date back in SA. All I can do now is wait. They should receive my mail in a few hours when SA wakes up.

Hi again just thinking now.. I read for the australian embassy instructions for packet 3 and it asks for 'application readiness' and asks for AOS etc to be submitted.... then I read that packet 4 gives you the interview date, which means its assigned after you submit the documents...so then i am thinking that means I should mail over those documents to my fiance ASAP...?

I went ahead and gathered my employer letter and bank info last week. I figured since I'm a salaried employee and well above the poverty line, it really didn't matter when I got that stuff.

I did order a tax transcript which should arrive later this week. Once I get that,I'll just sign my new letter of intent and get that all in the mail to Luanda.

Now I'm just trying to light some fire in my procrastinating fiancé to take care of his docs. In my heart, I could see this interview being late August, early sept.

Hm, OK, so I guess I should probably just start working on this ASAP then. Thanks so much for your input. I stupidly forgot to make a copy of our I-129F, so that has been especially annoying, since I didn't do it in a very organized fashion in the first place. Do you know if we have to take another more recent passport photo of ourselves, or is it just the beneficiary who has to do that?

I don't think we need another photo of ourselves. Check the forums to see if there's any threads for your embassy specific requirements

Has anyone here done finger printing yet for their police checks? Specifically anyone here with experience going through Sydney? My fiancé isn't sure which police check he needs (fingerprints or no finger prints) and we want to be sure. Thanks!

Hey! No actual 'packet 4' with crazy documents. I'm kinda confused, but just following the instructions the Embassy gives. Suppose it differs from embassy to embassy. My interview is scheduled for the 29th of September. A week after I get back from New Zealand. I will do my Medical in Cape Town. I'll fly early morning to Johannesburg, for my interview, then fly back home to Cape Town the same day. Hopefully with good news. I'm about to call the Physician in Cape Town to have my medical booked.

Did you just wait until you finished your medical before you submitted the DS 160? I see there's a medical question at the end, which I just put a placeholder "awaiting medical appt".

I was corresponding with the U.S. Embassy in Angola so I think there's a specific medical form that my fiancé needs. So I guess I gotta wait for that once our docs finally leave the NVC. :clock:

*sigh* Well at least we'll be ready once they get there.
