Hi again! :help:

My CEAC status says "In Transit: Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

I was just on the phone with NVC yesterday and they did not tell me anything about an interview date. Can someone help me figure this out?

I thought the interview date would be sent from our Embassy with Packet 3/4.

This just totally confused me right when I thought I had it all figured out

Also, I am hoping some of you can share your findings... what forms need to be notarized for the interview?? (ex. pay stubs, tax records, bank statements, etc..)

ALSO..Does the joint-sponsor NEED to supply a notarized copy of their birth certifcate (and/or passport?) to show their citizenship??

Thanks!! :goofy:

I wonder, I checked the USCIS website, it says it is approved. But it never says anything about mailing or transferring our case to NVC. What does this mean????

I also emailed to NVC by filling in the form, did not see anything return to me yet.

Try calling them @ 603-334-0700. If you hear it ring that means you're through so stay on the line to wait to speak to someone. If it does not ring right away, hang up and keep trying until you hear a ring.

Goodluck!

Hi everyone, just an update!

We received NOA2 on July 6th

Just called NVC for the first time today July 28th @ 8am. They gave me my case number.(total call time start to finish 6 mins!)

I can track it with CEAC, it says "AT NVC" on the website. said for me to follow the instructions sent to me (does anyone else get this note? I didn't receive any instructions from the NVC)

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information.

The lady told me its undergoing administrative processing and once ready will ship to the embassy in Bangkok. I'm not sure how long it has been there or when it will leave, but at least I can track it now.

That's an automatic message on ceac.

You need to check your embassy specifics, some schedule your interview and others let you schedule it yourself. Simple copies unless stated otherwise by your embassy.

Proof of citizenship can be simple copy of birth certificate (front and back) or passport pages

Hi,

6 minutes!!! That must be a record, lol. Yeah, NVC never sent me instructions. I hear sometimes you get a letter months later.

I was also in administrative processing at NVC. It seems they randomly picked cases to do this on. There is a thread about it here : http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/436021-stuck-nvc-for-ap-part-ii/

Hope you get out of NVC quickly!

I have a question about preparing documents. VJ's timeline says the petitioner should be gathering documents to send to the beneficiary for the interview, but it says that the letters and documents should be dated closer to the interview date. So, should I hold off completing the forms (and getting a letter from my bank and employer) until our case has reached the consulate, or is it okay to date the letters a month or so before the interview? What are you all doing?

hey there, im in the same position..stuck between wanting to get things done ASAP and thinking they will prefer documents dated closer to the interview.. I am expecting to hear from our Embassy by the end of this week and then I will decide what to do based on that.. I think once we have an interview date we will better be able to decide when to get documents filled out. Plus you gotta keep in mind the amount of time it takes for mail to get recieved overseas which for me to Australia is roughly 2 weeks sooo I don't think I should wait too much longer but yeahh we are in the same boat! I know for sure the only thing I ever saw that must be dated within a month or so of the interview would be the letter signed by the petitioner re-newing the desire to marry the beneficiary and will continue with the plan to do so within the 90 days....I feel stuck at this point!

Hi again just thinking now.. I read for the australian embassy instructions for packet 3 and it asks for 'application readiness' and asks for AOS etc to be submitted.... then I read that packet 4 gives you the interview date, which means its assigned after you submit the documents...so then i am thinking that means I should mail over those documents to my fiance ASAP...?

I went ahead and gathered my employer letter and bank info last week. I figured since I'm a salaried employee and well above the poverty line, it really didn't matter when I got that stuff.

I did order a tax transcript which should arrive later this week. Once I get that,I'll just sign my new letter of intent and get that all in the mail to Luanda.

Now I'm just trying to light some fire in my procrastinating fiancé to take care of his docs. In my heart, I could see this interview being late August, early sept.
