It's decent here. Working hard to make extra money for when all the finance is needed. I'm having my mum apply on my behalf while I'm here. My country is terrible in that regard. No connection. No special treatment. I'm from Cape Town. I just heard that I'm going to have to book a flight to Johannesburg to have my interview. Lol. I'm overjoyed.

Did you get your NVC case number yet??

I just checked DHL and a case left on the 14th to South Africa. There is a good chance its either yours or mine. lol . Maybe I am just hopeful, I am sure there are other filers who don't post on here from South Africa, plus all the other types of visas they process.

CEAC still says "at NVC" for me. :crying:

My fiancee's flight from Mauritius to Johannesburg is $400, he has to buy a round trip ticket to get into South Africa. He doesn't need a visa to enter South Africa but needs to prove he will leave. The hotel will cost a lot :-( Plus taxis to get around and food. We don't even know how long he will have to be there. I hope they can schedule the medical right before the interview.

Hey Van!

I tried calling NVC that one time. Like almost two weeks ago. They hadn't received our case yet. My fiance has now tried calling. Still struggling to get through. But I'm sure he'll manage. I'm not sure whether NVC has my case still, if they even have it, or if it's on its way. I'll know in a day or 2 I suppose. Also. With my birth certificate issue, I might as well wait till I get it, cause I can't schedule and interview if I don't have one. Know what I mean? That's a lot of expenses. I managed to contact a friend who will offer me a place to stay. But I think she's coming to New Zealand too soon. Lol. So I'll have to ask other buddies for accommodation close to Sandton just to save on extra money. Travelling has really made me meet a lot of people. It helps!

I know you're trying to save money but just as a reference, I did stay in the Hilton Sandton in May with my fiancé and I would recommend it. There were also other very nice hotels in the immediate area if your alternative accommodations don't pan out.

Good luck!!

My fiancé applied for a tourist visa last year and got denied and now we are filing for a k-1 visa and everything is set to go and now we just finished scheduling for the interview. The problem is the confirmation for the interview has her old DS-160 number and not the new one cuz she hasn't submit it yet.. Would that be a problem ? She's going to do her medical on Monday and we can't call today cuz it a holiday in the Philippines.. Any suggestions on how we can solve this.. Or how we can change it to the new one? Thank you
