Quick update for u guys. My wife passed her drivers permit test yesterday on her first try yay! DMV was able to issue her a new ID with her name change. Didn't need marriage certificate we brought her ead card and that was good for them. Now just preparing our paperwork for our AOS in October for the interview!

Did she ever drive before ? How long do you think until she is ready for the license test ?

We are driving every day on the permit and hopefully by next months are ready for the real thing.

It's a pain in the butt.

July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

You mentioned completing hours for driving, is that a state thing ? We have no minimum set hours for adults, only under 18.

Got a Capital One Secured card with $49 deposit yesterday with a $200 limit . Looks good for us guys with no credit . Plus I started my new job yesterday :) hope you guys are at least returning back to normal lives here

I got my driving license within 12 days after getting EAD, I love USA driving, it's very easy, in UK & Pak I was driving manual transmission car which was harder than here Automatic Transmission....I got my driving license in August :-)

I opened bank account before of EAD with CITI bank & now they are calling me for secured credit card to build my credit score but I said to them I will open next month b/c for secured credit card u need to deposit ur own money lol

I passed my permit test 09/11, tried to schedule the driving test online but the only available date is November **. So I did a walk in 09/15 and after waiting 1.5hrs to see someone, they told me the system was down to verify my status (the third time!) :ranting:

Good thing is I was able to visit family in Dallas with the learners permit.

Hey guys,

As I mentioned before, EAD and travel documents were approved!

My wife received EAD 4 weeks ago.

Potential waier letter received on 09/10/2015

When she will receive the travel document? Anyone received it already?

that EAD card is a combo card with the AP...it should say "SERVES AS I-512 ADVANCE PAROLE" at the bottom of the card
