So today I went to dmv office to apply for a driving licence. Being a friday, I waited for over an hour before I was called up. After everything, they told me that they would have to verify my status with dhs before they will allow me take my tests and then issue me the license.

I felt really bad because I practically sat there for almost two hours to be later told please come back after two weeks for your tests, we can't verify your status blah blah blah. Eesh!

I'm sorry about that! I don't understand why they wouldn't allow you to take your test.. I did my driver license shortly before my K1visa expired. I already had a SSN and my driver license is valid until my passport expires in 2016 (I don't have EAD or AOS yet and I hadn't sent it by the time I got my driver license)

The documents I showed to prove my address were my bank statements, the enveloppe in which I received my SSN, my I-94, my wedding license and my husband's proof of address. It took some time but it was no problem at all.

Hey guys, bit of an update. We put in a service request online about 10 days ago, got the usual "still within normal processing time" response expect a decision within 90 days of receipt.

Yesterday I logged into our USCIS account for my morning check and saw that we got approved for EAD/AP yesterday morning (the emails came last night!) :joy: :joy: :joy:

I highly recommend filing a service request if you haven't already because the pattern really shows that they're approved within a few weeks of receiving it.

One question - does that mean that our RFE response information was sufficient if they moved on to approve EAD/AP? Hoping so.

No status was verified :/

It happened the first time when I went to apply for my state id. The lady said that they will have to verify my status with dhs. After two weeks, I got a mail that it's been verified and that I can come in for the id. I don't know why the same thing will happen again this time. They already captured my data, biometrics and stuff. Smh another two weeks of not doing much. Eesh!

I don't know if they can call to verify. The guy even said that most times it takes about a month for the new card (combo card) to reflect on their system

When my then fiance (now hubby) got his state ID, they went to make a call and he received his ID on the spot. We will see what happens

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

We received the EAD/AP combo card today :joy: Was able to track it (call USCIS for tracking number) the entire time and hubby was sitting ready

with door open to watch for the mail carrier because tracking showed ready for delivery.

I spotted her first and ran out to her :rofl:

I saw her scan the envelope. It was a bit larger than regular envelope and priority mail.

Tomorrow DMV for DL permit and hope we will not encounter any hassles.

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

September 19, 2018 Case transferred and new office has jurisdiction

September 24th, 2018 Received case transfer notice in the mail to Texas Center
