Highly unlikely, December is only 4 months away and there is a 50/50 chance of either getting an interview or an interview waiver letter.

Interview is faster to a GC than the interview waiver. Also some received waiver letters and then still got interview appointments.

With waiver letters it takes about 12-14 months to receive your GC, with an interview it's sooner, 5-7 months or so.

I wouldn't plan any travel unless you feel safe enough to do so with your AP, it should be fine for most but personally I would wait.

I-485 is all over the map currently with very long wait times.

Most of the 4 months fast interviews you see are adjusting from other visas, usually not K1's, though possible for a few here and there.

Hmmm.. I see, thanks. We have arranged our wedding ceremony for our family back home so that's why we're leaving. I hope I won't receive a mail from them while I'm away.

Has your case status changed to "ready for an interview"? If so, then check the processing times of your local field office to give you an estimate on your interview time (for my local office they've just approved a I-485 from a year ago, so I think I'll be waiting a while!). Some people don't even get an interview, but apparently this can take a lot longer.

No it just changed from approved to card mailed out.

Hey everyone, this is my writing something on Visa Journey. Congratulations to all who have received their visas, work permits, and green cards!

I had a question/concern: My wife (the petitioner) and I filed for my work permit and green card back on May 13th, 2015 and received updates saying that our case was received for the I-485 and I-765 on May 18th, 2015.
It is now August 8th (84 days since they received it) and haven't received updates on either case.
Is it unusual for it to take this long, and is there anything I can do that would speed up the case?

I appreciate all responses, hope everyone has a good day!

Hi!

If you did not receive any RFE, normal processing time for EAD is 75-90 days, i would suggest that you call USCIS and follow up on your case...I-485 takes longer to be processed (depends on the backlogs at your local field office, you can also check online what month/year they're currently working on) and most of us haven't seen any updates on our aos status though some has changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" already... ☺

Thank you for responding!

I have not received any RFE's.
Would you happen to know the right phone number and person that I should request to speak with?
Great, I will definitely check out what month/year Memphis is on for green cards :)
My visa is set to expire on August 19th, does that have any significance in the process?
Thank you again for the response, much appreciated.

It's just been sort of a letdown seeing that everyone who applied for their work permit around the same time as me has received theirs weeks ago, but at the same time I'm happy for everyone else.

1 800-375-5283 is the number to call. You will have to put in a service request. Since it has been longer than 75 days, you should be able to do that. If the first person you talk to says not possible, try again.

No, your visa expiration has no significance in this process.

Im trying to put my stuff together for interview (still awaiting date). Financial wise I have joint bank accounts, renters policy insurance, apartment lease which I am wondering will be an issue. I filed my application while living in Brooklyn NY. We are moving on Saturday to New Jersey. I am very worried about changing my address and they transfer my case to New Jersey. I still have access to the Brooklyn mailbox but...

Does anyone know if the wait time for interview in NJ is less than NY? My case has been ready to be schedule since June....
