I hope someone can help me but I can't seem to find my RFE letter....what does this mean for me?

You are supposed to put the RFE letter on top of your response when you mail it back, it contains the MSC number and the A number.

I would call USCIS and ask them what to do, ask to be transferred to a tier 2 immigration officer.

Someone who had seen online that they would get a RFE letter but never actually received the 'lost' letter in the mail went to an infopass

to their local field office and the representative there called MSC in Lee's Summit, MO to have another RFE faxed right then and there.

It depends who you get to help you. Maybe they accept a plain sheet with the MSC and A numbers but I would ask them.

Hi fellows

I was wondering if any of AOS May filers has received EAD/AP? Cuz just yesterday I received my I-485 interview notice for late July despite the fact that none of my status have changed since the first update on May!

I am really happy for you, this is a very good sign for all of us!

USCIS told me to regularly check my case on the website because they are very accurate ... maybe for other processes (checking online during the K1 visa process was great) but the AOS cases seem to be 'frozen'

I haven't gotten all the documents to send back for my RFE, so I'm definitely behind and will probably be at the rate as the June filers for the I-485 but as long as my EAD card comes soon, then I'm happy.

I'm considering finding a way to contact USCIS and make sure they received my response to the RFE...it was just missing signatures on the I-864A form, received on the 6th of June and I sent it back the next day so they certainly should have received it. No update online though, and I don't want to wait out the 87 days only to find out it got lost in the mail...

Thoughts? Where should I go to contact them?

Just call them and see if the person on the phone can tell you. Tier 1 people are generally useless, but they might be able to tell you that much at least. If not, I'm sure a Tier 2 person could answer that question.

Hi there! Same here. We are still waiting for some documents to send to USCIS in response to the RFE. I think we will be able to send it after the 4th of July holiday.

It is the 1st day of July so we will probably be at the same rate of the July filers for I-485. I think we already lost our May priority date.

Although I read different info about EAD/AP processing once RFE is received. Some said it has nothing to do with the process, some said it will stop and resume upon the receipt of the documents being requested. So we can only hope for the best.

I called USCIS today and asked to be transfered to a tier 2 agent. I was thinking about expediting my work permit because I have a job offer. I spoke with a very FRIENDLY agent and he told me that expediting my EAD can cause delays because they are going to stop my case for supporting documents for my request. He also told me that my case (I-485) as been sent to my field office in NY to be sheduled for interview. I asked how comes the website is not updated with that information and he told me not to rely on the website because the officers are behind on processing and hardly updates the website. He even made a joke and said "at this present time your mailbox is your best friend". Anyways I was feeling all confident until he told me that my field office is currently processing October 2014 files which broke my heart lol. However he did make me smile when he said "who knows you might be approved sooner than later". Hopefully that was like a "hint hint" moment... guess it's back to waiting and counting sheeps for my many sleepless nights lol.

I talked to a tier 1 person and he told me that USCIS commonly takes 30-40 days to process an RFE response before mailing you notification that they've done so, and it's only been 30 or so days in my case, so he can't tell me anything more unless it's been over 60 days. Just have to hope it made it there and if I don't get any notification within this month, I'll chase it up. I did get 87 days total to give a response, so I've got some time.

And then I just received my notice for my I-485 interview today!! So excited. Do they stamp your passport AT the interview if they approve you, or later? I have to travel a good 5hr round trip to my nearest USCIS office so I hope I don't have to go a second time..
