I'm curious if anyone knows this... if I get an IO who cares that my medical was more than a year ago will they be asking me for a new medical examination i.e. something that might cost $100+, or will they be asking me to transfer my vaccination record over to the I-693 form (or both)?

I'm tempted to make an appointment with a CS just after my green card interview in case they give me an RFE so I'm ready to roll in immediately and get it taken care of. If they don't give me an RFE, then I can cancel the appointment.

That depends on the IO if he will ask for a new medical or just the vaccs transfer, who knows !

You can make the appointment and cancel it if not asked for.

@-Shana-: I wrote some posts ago my experience, plus what they seems to be interested on more. The vaccinations shouldn't be a big deal (if you got all the required one along your K-1 visa process). They might be more interested about TB and RPR.

I got all my vaccinations, would they want the TB test done? Surely seeing I've been vaccinated would be enough! RPR, I've not heard that one, was that what the blood test was for when I had the medical in the UK?

Recently I have been seeing a lot of people saying that I should get a new medical just in case the office asks for it at the interview. I have waited for this journey and I just don't want to deal with this any longer. Plus I got a job recently and my EAD expires in july so I need my greencard by then. so I just went ahead and got the new medical this week. I know I was a little upset to spend the money that otherwise I didn't need to spend, but I just wawnted to be done with this process as soon as possible. It really depends on the IO to ask us for a new medical or not, but in case they do, i just want to hand it over to them right on the spot.

That's fair. I already have my application for a new EAD in the works so if there is a delay with my GC I hope that my new EAD will cover any delay. With a big move for us on the horizon I'd rather avoid any big spends if possible, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that we don't get asked. If we do then I'll suck it up and fork over the money!

We will renew the EAD next week, it expires in August.

Still nothing for us. Has been stuck at sent RFE since Dec 16th...They haven't updated that they received it! Sent in a service request they were supposed to respond to May 8th...It's the 6th and still not assigned to anyone...I think I'll be contacting Ombudsman on Monday. I really need it in hand, I need to fly home this August or Sept but my EAD expires Aug 18th...and what after happened last time I don't want to take that risk.

Meanwhile someone at my local office got their green card in 3 months with no interview....that seems fair.

Have you submitted your application for a new EAD? I would do that if you haven't already.

I hope you hear back in the next week, if not, you might submit it all and then your AOS case will get updated immediately after! USCIS has a nice sense of timing...

Probably a silly question, but I'm too lazy to look around tonight...How far in advance are you supposed to renew the EAD? I'm assuming 90 days.
