I like the name Khaled! But Dh already has a brother that name. Khaleda is one of my favs for girls too. And Yasmeen. I like the name Mahala, which SOUNDS arab, but it's actually norwegian!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I haven't found any arabic girls names that I like other than Meriem (Mary, Mariah, Marie, etc.) I'm actually hoping that I won't have to name any daughters arabic names. Cause if there is more than one, we'll be like George Foreman hee hee.

My favs:

Girl: Jehen, Safiyah (Sofia), Meriem, Noura, Esma, Malika, Fatime-Zahra, Safran, Cherifa, Malek

Boy: Sidali, Kerim, Yousef (Josef),Medy (but my husband says no more Medys, or Ahmeds/Mohammeds in the family) Bachir, Emil, Imren (my granfather's name) Gibreel, Adam

I hate: common names, names like Sheba, Zainab, Houda, any kind of Abdul (Abdel)-something name,(asking for trouble) or Zubina, any name thats sounds like Zub, Abir (sounds like a beer...donnot want my chidren being teased) or names they could not ever live up to like Rasoul, Jaami, complex names like NabiyautTawbah or Khaatamual Anbiya.

Does anyone know is Raziel is arabe or hebrew name?

Julianna: Mahala sounds Hawaiian, like mahalo.... Sorry

I have always liked the name Ramses for a boy and Fatima for a girl. Hubby and I have came up with Jade Salma Khan sounds cute or a name with Fatima in it and Ramses Khan sounds like a poweful name. I know Jade is not a muslim name but well.....there has to be a compromise in our family when it comes to names. My family still cant pronouce my husbands last name correctly. They have thick mexican accents so instead of saying Khan when they say his last name it sounds more like CAN LOL. Im going to have to work on that I dont want to be called Mrs. "CAN" the rest of my life jajaja

For a boy he wants the name Adham...which is some kind of arabian horse. He's dreamt of this his whole life. I"m like, the kids are gonna call him Adam not Adham 'cause no one here has heard of an Adham. I want Said but when I mentioned that to his sisters they both instantly looked at him and said something in Arabic and then I heard the name Adham. lol. I think my name will be mud if it's not Adham so Adham it is. And I can't even get Said in there as a middle name 'cause he's Egyptian and it has to be Adham Usama Said Mohammed Macmoud xxxxxxxx. That kid'll have fun orderin' a pizza!!

For a girl I love the name Sofia. . . but to be honest I have two girls and insha allah it will be a boy when I'm pregnant because Allah knows I'll have a mental breakdown if I have another girl. Too many hormones in one house between me, my two daughters and my cat. One more and I truly think the earth will shift. :P
