We carefully considered the options, and we have the following:

Majdolin, Dalia, Noah, and Qais.

I told him we could trade Madeline (my fav since I was like 6) for Majdolin, but I refuse to trade Noah for Nuh which is hard to say and not nearly as nice :)

what about what YOU want? or do you not care? i mean, for me, i wouldn't agree to that. my family has their own customs with names so why should i be any less important?

I am not sure they are actually flexible in their naming process. Whereas we are. I have only one tradition in the family, oldest girl gets her mother's name for the middle name. That's all :) Otherwise, names are generally random and up to whim.

But that's part of why we are sticking to Noah. Or I am. And I will NOT let them knock me out and wake up to find a Nuh. I'll have that sucker at home if I have to and drive myself in to get a NOAH :) He laughs, he knows I am determined in this one. I nixed all kinds of names he chose though, things like Amr, Ahmed, Mohammed, Hamed, anything related to Mohammed, etc :) I even nixed Isa, I just don't like that! LOL!

I like Noah. That's a good compromise. In my family (I think its a religious tradition, but not sure exactly) I'm supposed to name my daughter after my dead grandmother, Anna. But that name sounds really stupid with my fiance's last name (which also starts with an A) Maybe we'll do it her middle name. If I even have a girl. ;)

The naming thing you're talking about julianna isn't a Muslim thing per say. My husband is Muslim and he has a first and last name - no other names included. In most of Morocco that's how it is. Our son is Khalil but we also liked Tariq for a boy and Malika and Kenza for a girl.

OO, they don't do it in Morrocco? I can say that to him then! He and my egyptian friend both agreed on it being Islam. Yay! Score one for me :) I can argue against it for the girls.
