el al's "program" (racist propaganda is a far more accurate term in my opinion) does NOT grill everyone equally. they operate on a three tiered security rating system-jews and israelis rank as the lowest security threat, westerners second, arabs, in particular males, rank as the highest. it's bigotry under the guise of "protection"-disgusting. i can't believe there was anyone out there naive enough to believe el al treats and checks everyone equally. honestly, that's rather amusing.

youre right, el al doesnt grill everyone equally. but with the hijacking history they have had, i dont really blame them. and my friends who got stripped searched were not arab men, they were non-jewish americans. and i myself have been through some of their tougher security (mostly for commenting that i go to a catholic school as a jew....)

no one sad they treat everyone equally. just that they felt safer there than other places. i know, as a jew, that im going to have it easier than my non jewish friends... but its never bothered them.

Not to stir up some BS, but last year when I was in Frankfurt, I was sitting around waiting for my next flight and I sat near a gate where a flight came in from Tele Aviv. They posted some sign about security checks and which way to go for these checks. They let out a mass of Jewish ppl (I could tell from their dress)... They had a guide there waiting to instruct them on where to go, etc. Then several touristy and other misc ppl came throu... they did not get any special treatment...just normal service, they did not even have to pass throu the secuirty check but then a guard escorted about 15 arabe looking ppl throu the gates... just the way they were walking...made me think like they hauled off like criminals. All of them of course were pushed to a small area, where the guard checked all their passports. I could not believe it.

ive also noticed that el al flights to and from germany go through a LOT more security and wierd moments like that than from other countries. im not sure if it is the history or something else.. and the first group might have been a group together, which would explain their explanations.

aqoul, if i said they treated everyone equal, i didn't mean it. el al certainly did not. nor do they in ANY COUNTRY in the world! random people are stopped and searched all the time. el al grilled the hell out of me for over an hour and i saw plenty of people go by while i was still there. they have their reasons. they have intense training, knowledge, and experience.

i can't blame them! if you're going to get into this racist ####### then why DOES el al do this? who commits almost all terrorist attacks? why do you think that is? you don't think they should be extra careful with certain people? i'd hate to know what would have happened if they didn't have this program...

you may not buy it but is el al not the safest airline to fly? it sure is.

quit sitting there with your rosy colored glasses on. of course it sucks to be profiled. of course life would be better if everyone would be treated equal. but guess what? there are a lot of bad people out there that want to hurt us. and if i have to go through horrible security checks once in a while, or the next guy, or you, i feel a lot safer doing so.

Are you implying that those who commit "terrorism" look, dress, and are Muslim?

Complain about what people? As far as I'm concerned, ANYONE who uses force or threats to intimidate others is a terrorist......it doesn't matter what religion they come from.....it doesn't matter what color their skin is......it doesn't matter what language they speak.....it doesn't matter whether they live in a 3rd world or a 1st world nation.

"These people who commit terrorism" come in all sorts......and yes, absolutely, I am "outraged with their behavior"......but unfortunately, when the use of force or threats to intimidate others is executed by anyone who does not look, dress, or appear to be Muslim it is not considered to be terrorism.......rather, it is considered an act of liberation.

It stirs up trouble because what Aqoul says is often on point, and that makes people uncomfortable. Aquol is not a troll, and the tone is the same used in their blog. If anyone would take the time to read it instead of just getting all offended, they would see Aqoul is rather passionate and follows MENA issues closely, and probably more so than most (not all) here. I would rather see someone debate the context of what Aqoul says than just take offense or label them a troll or troublemaker, but the latter is much easier.
