Hello!

Love this forum.. and hoping I could get input about our situation!

My fiance's interview was scheduled for earlier this year (end of March) but unfortunately he could not make it due to a work conflict. (I've read all the lectures about not missing an interview--so believe me: had it been at all possible he would have made it!) ;)

As soon as we realized it was impossible for him to make it, I sent the online contact form requesting to reschedule the interview, and I received the response: "Thank you for your inquiry. Your preferred appointment dates have been noted. You can expect to be contacted in writing closer to the time with the date of your visa interview."

Then, after not receiving a new appointment letter and perhaps being impatient, I sent another contact form last month and received the following:

"As advised in an email to you on March 18, we note that you wish your appointment to be scheduled between 15th and 30th May. You will be notified of your appointment date in due course, please be advised however, that we are unable to guarantee an appointment on any set date."

I understand that an interview date can't be guaranteed during my requested dates. However, his medical was January 22--which means his Visa would only be valid for entry until around July 22 (6 months, right?) I am assuming that they will be able to reschedule the interview before July 22. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? I have read that rescheduling may take months--so in the event that the interview is scheduled after medical expires, what happens then?

I appreciate any thoughts and advice!

Thank you so much,

Carina and Gordon

You would have to redo the medical. It has to be valid at the time of the interview.

You will have to retake only part of the medical. I have seen the price before, but I can't remember £79 or £179 ??? Totally escapes me. It is the TB clearance that has to be done over because it has a validity of 6 months.

Interview is scheduled for May 22!

Nich-Nick, your wisdom in this forum has been invaluable throughout this process.. thank you. I was wondering if you could clarify how many US style passport photos my fiance should bring to his interview? I have seen you mention that they now only need 1 photo? We have 1 already from an earlier stage (taken within 6 months), and just wanted to ask your advice about if I should have him get another set taken so that he has 2 to bring to his interview.

Thank you!!

The reports I have heard of recent interviews is one photo. You might ask in this thread because they are the ones who have been to interviews lately. Two of them went yesterday. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/542752-progress-thread-for-tsc-filers-now-between-nvc-and-interview-stage/

Thanks for the kind words and the follow-up. It helps to hear what happens. While they may give you standard answers, I think London tends to accommodate when possible, like they did for him...smack in the middle of the time frame he wanted.

The list on the website says two photos. They took only one from me yesterday.

I took two despite reading the reviews so I didn't have to bother getting more on the day.
