Sorry-reply sent without quote-edit not allowed.

Very sorry to hear about your delay. It seems like Montreal is giving a few little headaches on a whole. Do you think there are more difficulties for the history and ties Canada and America have? I grew up blocks from the border in Niagara Falls. We walked the border literally daily into Canada and went through to Toronto with absolutely no problems for thirty years; this with a grandmother whom was an immigrant always carrying her papers with her. I actually am in love with Canada and always had dreamt of living there. Then 9/11 hit, we returned, and all of the sudden it was a nightmare that spanned the decade now. the requirements they had back when I was in my twenties to work and immigrate there as a US citizen were really much simpler then now by far. We still have a plan one day to go back home near the border so we may keep Canada close again; my husband needs to know real tobogganing (smile).

I am not sure of the other consulates but we were impressed with Italy. The documents must be checked against the letter before even going into the building for the interview. This point is where you are told what you are missing or what can be gotten before you are even allowed to the interview. You sit at a window. My husband said everyone was very pleasant; she checked off only the ones that were required. I am the petitioner and was divorced 15 years ago. We did include the certified copy but, as anyone has said, it was not looked at. Actually she literally only checked the important civil originals that were told on the letter we needed. The divorce doc was 'f' for us as well. There were no problems that day but we are told of others whom didnt have a police record or court record and were kindly told where they could go quickly in naples to get one before their interview while we also heard of others that were turned away before the interview and told what they were missing, then to reschedule. My husband had two people for the interview; one was the io and the other stood behind, said hello kindly, then nothing more. I thought this was really a great idea; can cut the judgement calls that can be used so loosely from an interviewer.

You are really in our thoughts; so very sorry to hear of the disappointment. It should be fairly quick and simple to solve that once they receive the doc. you sent. Keep us up to speed.

Well, tracked my Loomis shipment TO the consulate this morning and it was delivered at 9:16 am local time.

Now, as long as it doesn't take them 60 + days to open the envelope we should be ok....LOL

Has anyone here had the experience of having to send additional information after the interview, and if so, how long after that did it take for you to get your visa?

(F) I'll add to the (wink winks...) (F) Dear Lord Embassy.... I'd LOVE my husband to get his ISSUED for our 2nd anniversary....pretty please....

There is at least one bright side after you finally reach the end of the tunnel: Since you will have been married for over 2 years, you don't need to go through the removal of conditions later on :). That can be a real tough hurdle since it seems RFEs for that process are a lot more abundant than for I-129Fs and I-130s.

It would be amazing if they issued it on your second anniversary though. Fingers crossed!

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

6.5 months now in AP and no movement from the embassy. They've stopped responding to my emails completely and they just give my senator's assistant very formulaic responses. I barely feel married any more. This process is life-ruining.

Hang in there love that is what they want for us to give up!!! Just NOT going to happen!!!!!!!!!!!! We have uggg been taking pictures which I really hate but have to do wish there was more we could do. hugs to all please hang in there.

Just popping in to say Congrats to all that have been approved!!! Your patience has finally been rewarded!

Looking forward to a long weekend here, then flying to Montreal on Tuesday for my interview on Wednesday. Will use the weekend to double, triple and quadruple check our documents.

Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Thank you sweet heart for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, God bless you in all you do.

Good luck sweet heart your in my prayers and I know all will be well for you. :)

 we feel your pain. :ranting: 340 days in :alien: AP :alien: (i had a really long response, but like soloenta, the immigration fairy made it go poof...so maybe they are editing our responses....whatever.) i know this process is taking sooo long, and i am trying to stay positive.(Yesterday i was a disasterous emotional mess  EVERYDAY IS A STRUGGLE) But...I know at some point it will be over, and we will get our issueds. Insha'Allah. anyway, i found this letter to a wife from the palestine embassy. at least it's more realistic...she received it last year, so it's outdated, but i feel still applies, and closer to the truth than i've found anywhere else. Here's the link to the thread....http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/480858-ceac-says-refused/

Dear Madam:

Thank you for contacting us. Your case is pending due to required additional administrative processing. Administrative processing refers to various additional steps that must be taken before a visa can be issued. Typically, this process lasts at least 9 months but, on occasion, it can take longer. We are not able to take any further action until the additional administrative processing is complete. Once the additional administrative processing is complete, a consular officer will review the case. The following documents may require renewal at the conclusion of the administrative processing:

1. Police certificates: valid for one year from the date of issuance.

2. DS-260/DS-230 part I and II: valid for one year from the date of signature.

3. Medical report: valid for six months from the date of the exam.

You may now check on the status of your pending immigrant visa application online by visiting the Department of State’s Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/.

Stay strong in your marriage, eventually we will all be reunited and can live happily ever after. (F) Natasha

You know I love you and this is one of the many reasons why!!!! (F)(L)(F)
