Hey all,

So, my interview was on Feb 20th in Montreal; visa was approved! Thank God! Picked up my visa packet and passport a week later from Loomis. POE was March 2nd. All went well thank God! I got my green card in the mail in April

Okay so I am back here because my friend needs help. Her interview was on March 20th at Montreal. She was approved. She got the welcome letter and everything. She flew back to Vancouver and since has been waiting for her visa packet and passport. Its been almost 2 months. She has called NVC numerous times and she has been told her visa has not been approved and her case is at 'administrative processing'. Has anyone ever heard of such case where visa is approved at interview, however case is at administrative processing?

Poor girl is stressed and worried. She cant even travel anywhere because she doesn't have her passport please please reply your thoughts or refer me to another thread where I may be able to get answers. So this is late asking. Has anything happened with her case? What was she told at her interview? Was she given anything, i.e. a form like a 221g.? Calling NVC has nothing to do with this. This is an Embassy matter.

Many people are put in AP. Are they of Canadian Nationality or from another country where being in AP maybe commonplace?

If she needs to travel she can always contact the embassy and request it and they will send to her. That's no issue there.

After over an hour of waiting on the phone with the NVC, and a loop of on-hold music that still won't escape my mind, a very kind gent confirmed our interview date!

June 18th - 9 am

It was scheduled today, so I'm hoping the e-mail will show up sometime between now and Monday... time to get the medical portion of this underway!

Scan date: April 6th

CC: May 1st

CC e-mail: May 7th

Interview confirmed (verbally): May 15th

Interview date: June 18th

Plz will I receive email that my passport is ready for pickup? It's showing AP now, when am I likely to know it's ready for pickup plz.

Congratulations Stunningdiva1. I am sure you have your Visa by now so this is for future readers.

For Nigeria its 5 business days one week after interview usually the Visa package is ready for pickup. It will go From Ready to AP to Issued. You can always call the Visa Center place to see if its ready for pickup so you don;t waste time and Fuel getting there.

Had our interview Thursday afternoon. By today (Monday afternoon) the visa has been issued and printed! Much quicker than we expected, pleasantly surprised to end this journey on a good note :-)

I just got my final CC today!! Woot!!

From what I've seen... Montreal typically schedules at the beginning of the month and near the end of the third week if there's still space......

There is a teeny tiny sliver of a chance we may get something, but realistically we should hear something beginning of June

Visa approved this morning!

Based on the quick phone call with my spouse, the interview was fairly easy. We were concerned with having to explain/justify why we filed the I-864W and proving domicile. Didn't come up at all. Only sticky issue is name spelling. The embassy will issue the visa with the Scandinavian vowel ø spelled out as oe, but the sympathetic consular officer said that it may be possible to correct it at POE so that the green card will simply have an o. (My spouse has history in the US, so maintaining the same name spelling is important. Also important to us that the whole family has the same last name spelling. The kids names were automatically spelled with an o by the US government for passports, etc.)

After reading and responding to this thread, I decided to give the NVC a call and found out we have an interview for June 23! No email notification yet, but the operator said it shouldn't be too long.

Dwheels chime in again. My wife file taxes online and because when you married you have to put in your husband social which I dont have. Because of this she filed single, will this be a problem?

It shouldn't but you may be asked why are yo filing single when you are married. I think the embassy has seen this enough to know why but want to hear you say it.

You could have filed Married filing separately you do not need a SS#.

We were CC May 7th, called May 15th verbal interview date June 2nd ... meanwhile no email confirmation so we called again now they are saying June 18th (verbally) .. still waiting...

i have question .is it true. that now you can remove your conditional green card after 1 year of USA entry ?

If you entered US and receive a 2 year Green card you can start removing conditions 90 days from the date it expires which will be 21 months from the date you card will be issued.

The 1 year expire is the temp green card stamp in your passport you get on POE entry. That expires in 1 year. You can use that to travel back and forth and other things but may agencies in US aren't very trained and don't know this use. So that's why many just hurry to get the green card

My cc was 16 April and I still haven't heard anything about the interview date at New Delhi.

How long does it take? Over a month now - super depressed!!!

Help?

Looks like April 11th CC is the last date anything has happened for scheduling. Must be the busy season. So next round will be loaded up again. Hang on.
