K1 Petitions Transferred to CSC?

I've seen a couple of people comment that all of the petitions have been transferred from TSC to CSC. Is there any truth to this and how do people know this? I sure hope that's the case because mine is currently in the "TSC blackhole" but don't want to get my hopes up if this isn't accurate info.

The theory (which has been substantiated to this point) is that all new petitions filed starting March 27th (or thereabouts) are routed directly to CSC regardless of the petitioner's state. Unfortunately, they are not transferring cases currently at TSC as far as we know despite this announcement http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/workload-transfer-within-service-center-operationswhich, in my opinion, was very irresponsibly worded and implied that a workload transfer would occur.

Salt in the wound to those who worked so hard to advocate for some relief at TSC.

They are not transfers, they are being directly routed. This has been confirmed through a letter sent on behalf of the President to a poster here. It only affects new incoming cases and not those currently stuck at TSC.

Apparently it is being worked on. And when i called to ask more info i was told that it is not the new petitions that go there and that they would still be processed in the order they were received....so i guess we wait and see

Unfortunately they are not telling you the truth, either because they aren't aware or they just don't feel like telling the truth. :)

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the USCIS Service Centers forum -- topic involves routing of petitions. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I think Yuna might be right on that one. Since TSC is so backed up, petitions are not even hitting TSC at all - they are given CSC case numbers and being shipped to Cali. The petitions that are in limbo at TSC will likely stay there since they've already been assigned TSC case numbers. I know a woman who works at CSC and is a member of another message board and she said the TSC processing times will improve because of this new process. They've also hired more TSC temp staff for the summer months (busiest time of the year, according to said CSC worker) and they expect things to be sorted out very soon.

Yuna is absolutely correct. I hope the woman you know is correct, as well, for all those filing in the future. But I have my doubts. I'm afraid that in a few months the situation will look the same as it does now except with tsc moving fast and csc behind. I'm not too confident in uscis's ability to proactively manage workloads based on their past and current track record.

Hey All,

We are also waiting for our second NOA, thankfully we were routed from TSC to CSC. I am checking the case status every day... I know it's stupid  I've just seen the offical processing times at USCIS wepage at the CSC, it says 5 months (as of Feb 28/2015)... Can you tell me why they are not updating this? Or they just don't care?

I wish good luck and the best for all our fellow sufferers!

You actually weren't routed from TSC to CSC, you were routed from the lockbox to CSC. Lot of people confuse the lockbox and TSC and think they are the same facility, but they aren't. If you could, kindly, change your timeline to remove the transfer. It would help the data here be just a little bit more reliable.

USCIS actually updates their processing times every month. You'll notice that the updates are usually about 6 weeks out of date, though. It's lame. We can see here that CSC is actually processing much faster than 5 months, but 5 months is the goal for I-129fs, so any time the goal is being met, they will just post 5 months as the processing time. If you think about it, it makes sense. Why would they want to tell everyone they are working way faster than they have to? Saying 5 months buys them time in case something goes wrong or a petition is lost. Plus it's been the crutch they've been using for months and months to tell us that TSC isn't that far behind.

Yes, you're right, I corrected our timeline I hope it's ok now. I read something about this routed vs transferred thing before.. The bottom line is our case at CSC, we have better chance to get the second NOA soonest. However it's so sad an unfair that many couples need to wait months and months at TSC!! I hope this will be solved soon, they need to pay attention and care.

I assumed the same what you've written about the "offical" processing time, yeah, it's mainly for safety reasons. I think the most reliable source is the Igor's list.
