It used to be three years. I think they will accept one year now; but, since you are speaking about transcripts, I would go ahead and request the last three years.

Get all three years, it says you "may" send in three years on the I864 but only one is required - however, lots have seen RFE's for the last three years so it's best to either send them in now or have them handy in case they are asked for.

If you can susbstantiate support with one tax return, and have solid employment history, then one tax return should be fine. This substantiation is the cause of the largest % of AOS RFEs, however.

I submitted 3 so that they won't bxtching about it later.

We sent one, plus the tax transcripts ordered from the IRS. No problems so far.

It is best to send more than required rather than not sending enough and having an RFE further delaying your case,

I would send past 3 years, & also bring the transcripts with you when you go on your interview.

Don't forget to include

a letter from employer stating what your salary/ wages are & how long you have been employed

Statement of your bank account

Recent Paycheck stub

Send Anything else you think may be needed to establish ability to support intending immigrant.
