K3's have the ability to travel without AP. The K3 is a multiple entry visa and no AP is required.

K3's do not have to apply for AOS right away, like K1's do. This is helpful in the cases where finances are an issue.

Thanks Rebecca my error that the K3 is mulitlpe entry.

Even with all the hardships that come with K3, I think it's still a better option for married couples than just sitting there for over a year waiting to be together. The K visa was initially just K1 for fiancees. It was extended to married people to attempt to allow them the ability to be together while they waited, just like the K1s get to.

When I was married to Mustapha there was no K3. We just had to be apart for the entire time we waited unless I traveled there.

The drawback to the K1 is that you still have all the AOS to do once you're here, whereas the K3 is filed after the CR1/R1 so while there is still an interview out there, at least the paperwork has been done. Am I right? I think that's how it works but if I'm wrong please correct me so I can learn what is right.

I just looked on Casa's website do you realize that petitions for spouses only get TWO HOURS a week in Morocco?

Petitions for Spouses TH 2 pm to 3 pm

But every day of the week besides Wednesdays they make time for nonimmigrant visas. And remember family is a priority.

K-1's are non-immigrant visas... that's what a lot of us are here for! But pretty sad and pathetic about the 1 hour window, it should be more like a day ???

K-3's are considered non-immigrant visas also. It is valid for 2 years with multiple entries, so traveling is possible with this visa (if you can afford it after this process, LOL). After coming to the States, the AOS has to be filed, so there is still a wait for the Green Card. Everything seems to take a long time . . .
