And in Texas, or Texico as we sometimes call it

Don't forget Arizona and New Mexico.

The weird thing about many Mexicans in those Southwestern states is that they have been living there much longer than their "American" neighbors. So, they might speak Spanish instead of English, but they are not immigrants...

true...allot of families in new mexico go back many generations...and orginally were there when it was part of mexico

Just click on the state and you'll get a whole bunch of different kind of information about the the immigrants in that area (including ethnicity). The info isn't very recent though since its based on the 2000 census.

All I know is that south Florida is chock full of Cubans and hispanics... we get Spanish-speaking missionaries coming to the door fairly often and they're surprised that I don't speak spanish. Excuse me... do I LOOK like I speak Spanish? lol Actually they're not going to have much luck in our whole complex any more - looks like all the newly converted condos have been bought by Europeans.

Here in the southeast of NC i've 'heard' some Jamaicans, a Jamaican girl worked with us for some months, there are a few Jamaican doctors too around..

The Triangle (Raleigh Durham and Chapel Hill) is the most hispano populated area.. they have the radio stations, the mexican rodeo disco and some other stuff..

here in the southeast part (Lumberton and Fayetteville) they have a fairly high number too, the food processing factories hire almost all of them.. actually, Saint Pauls NC (small town), now called 'San Pablo' has the highest hispanic rate of all NC, the average is 5%.. Saint Pauls is 9%

lol.. the rednecks, they aren't immigrants, but they sure don't speak english either lololol

There are a lot of Cubans in Miami but also a lot of Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Nicaraguans, Panamanians, Venezuelans, Argentineans, Haitians, and many other cultures.
