:) What a cursed month March was for ROCs at VSC! I wonder if VSC director ordered to halt the processing of ROCs for 5 months. Unbelievable! On a side note, that processing time reflects the status on December 31st. They have been processing April cases since January as you may follow on the April thread.

I hope your right, its frustrating that we have to wait this long but what can we do... We should have Faith and keep us posted if anyone get their approval.. Hopefully they are almost done processing April filer then by the end of this month we can hear some news.. I hope sooner!

Because we are still within normal processing times. What you say is true if say they process May, then move on to June/July, and for whatever reason we still haven't heard back on our case (not even an RFE). Then yes N-400 would enforce VSC to do something about your case. At least they would tell why it is delayed. Right now, it is just due to the backlog.

It doesnt matter if they are within normal processing times or not. The N-400 can force them to adjudicate even if they arent dragging their feet since a decision must be made on that before they can approve the naturalization. In a place where naturalization can be quick, like for you, it can certainly be beneficial. But not everyone wants naturalization obviously. I dont, (especially not with more relationship evidence!) so I get a reluctance to do one to get the other.

Then anyone who is eligible can file N400 and jump ahead of others. Anyway, one way or the other I hope they get going with May VSC cases soon. With this ridiculous delay, it just feels ROC is an unnecessary step in between for people who think about filing for naturalization.

The processing info on the USCIS website has changed from March 23 to March 30th at the VSC - BUT! - if you look at the i-751 April Vermont Filers, almost all on here have been approved in the last couple of weeks, so based on that logic (is anything ever logical when it comes to USCIS??!!) I doubt we May filers will have to wait another month.

Yup pretty much if they're slow enough.

And I agree, but they cant just change the rules for people who want to naturalize vs not.

They could make the conditional period 3 years instead of 2, then you can naturalize or ROC

Hi eveyone I figured this is the right place for my question regarding my mom, if not I apologize and please tell me where should I ask ...anyway, in May 2015 my mom filed to lift her temporary condition, she did it with the same lawyer who did her process with the temporary green card (through marriage), he told her to not even expect anything before the first 6 months and that after the first 6 months she could get it between then and the next 6 months so that it could take up to a year, she got her extension letter pretty fast and did biometrics on June 29th but that's about it ...her status still says "On May 29, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number EAC151735XXXX , and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by June 28, 2015, please call Customer Service...." But I've been reading around here and there's people that filed after her and already got their permanent green card, I've told her to call her lawyer and ask but she says he told her it could take up to a year so she doesn't seem worried ...should I tell her to call uscis? Should he make an info pass?

Her case number starts with EAC, so it is at Vermont Service Center (VSC). Tell her not to worry, we are all in the same boat. Other than one random approval, VSC hasn't started processing May cases yet (but they are currently on to the April cases). She filed her case end of May, so give her another 3-4 weeks and keep following the VSC timelines here (don't compare her case to California service center timelines). Good luck!

I just got my notification of approval! I filed in Vermont and they received it May 15th, 2015 and I've checked the website and they say the printed and sent the Green Card about a week ago, so hopefully should be here soon.

So keep the faith, people. They are getting around to us.

One point of complication was that after filing, I moved from Rhode Island to Colorado. I thought perhaps they had moved me to CSC, but the letter definitely came from VSC, so I guess not.

Any other update from VSC this week? Feels like VSC officers went on a skiing trip. Who's gonna be the first one to update that (*almost) untouched VSC timeline table?
