Any news on Vermont center? It's been. Along time now and no one has received any news

Yep we will be entering our 10th month shortly. They are on to April cases but unfortunately not at a pace to diminish backlogs. Hopefully within 1-2 weeks May VSC adjudications will start to come out.

I am just giving an opinion. I think the only one way for VSC to speed up is if the center transfers some cases to CSC. The workers in VSC always work with the same speed. They are not going to work one day and say hey let's hurry up because so many people are waiting for their ROC approvals. They are not gonna speed up on their own. VSC is in the same situation like it was far back in winter 2009. Back then in February they were processing cases from March-April 2008 but in the middle of February the center transfered many of June, July and August cases to California and cought up very quick. The only thing that we can do, but I am not sure how helpful it could be, is to call and ask them if they are planning to transfer some cases to California any time soon. Besides that is sitting and waiting...

I don't think even the Tier 2 officers would know when a transfer would happen or which forms would be transferred. VSC clearly needs less number of petitions or hire more adjudication officers to match the demand. USCIS is majorly funded by the filing fees. Long term solution, increase filing fees, hire and train more officers.Petitioners would not complain to pay more for a faster service. Short term solution, assign more states to file to CSC. Even better, why not have all I751s file to CSC and totally eliminate the geographic dependency? Last year, I-751s constituted just above 2% of all the petitions USCIS received. Should be a very manageable transition with such a small workload. However, this also shows we are such a minor group of petitioners no one would ever care.

Hello all,

Dropped by to see how everyone is doing. It's nice to see the "Approved" column almost full!

I used my 10-year green card for the first time last month. I was worried because my photo looked dark, but everything went fine. It was nice not to spend so much time at the immigration counter. The agent asked me about a flat , brown box I had hand-carried. It was a precious Philippine Christmas lantern made of fragile capiz shells. When I told him that, he sent me on my way.

Getting back to the US via Denver, I was at one of those kiosks where you scan your green card or passport before you line up for immigration. Someone had left her green card at the kiosk! Que horror! So I took it and gave it to one of the agents an immigration. They found the owner, an Indonesian woman. She was so relieved. So, you know, take good care of your documents!

RFE was mailed to me on dec 17, went to the wrong address. Remailed to me on Jan 6th, 2016. I got it prob around the 11th. I mailed my RFE response jan 25th it was delivered jan 29th. I got a notification this morning 2/8 that my new card is in production!

Hopefully either this week or next someone from VSC would post an approval. We are finally really really close seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

My N-400 eligibility begins March 13 and I'm planning to file immediately whether ROC gets approved by then or not. I could have filed for ROC back in March but was too lazy and honestly didn't know how tragically slow VSC is. Lesson learned for sure! I already prepared my N-400 package. I will either include the new GC if it arrives by then, or file with the pending ROC but all set to go (I even filed my taxes early this year to include 2015 tax transcripts).

My feelings exactly Charmander. I was eligible to file last March also. If my hubby and I knew how slow Vermont were/are we would have got our stuff together and filed in March instead of procrastinating. I've already started to get N-400 ready and I just hope it's a quicker, smoother process than the i-751.

I don't think it would make a difference for us yet because VSC is just slow. Other than one random approval back in December they still haven't adjudicated any of the May cases yet. Unfortunately, despite filing 9 months ago, our cases are still within normal processing times. Anyway, I just saw an approval notice at trackitt.com for USCIS received date 4/27. We should hear approvals from May VSC petitioners any day now.

I guess each local office is different, NYC is probably the worst but my local office, Boston, currently shows 5 months for N400s. God knows but if that's true, I may even be able to vote in November. Lol.

Because we are still within normal processing times. What you say is true if say they process May, then move on to June/July, and for whatever reason we still haven't heard back on our case (not even an RFE). Then yes N-400 would enforce VSC to do something about your case. At least they would tell why it is delayed. Right now, it is just due to the backlog.

What a cursed month March was for ROCs at VSC! I wonder if VSC director ordered to halt the processing of ROCs for 5 months. Unbelievable! On a side note, that processing time reflects the status on December 31st. They have been processing April cases since January as you may follow on the April thread.
