When we travelled from England to the US right before my husband's GC expired we asked the immigration officer if we should get a stamp. I did have the NOA with me to show that he had filed for removal of conditions. The immigration officer told me to travel ONLY on the piece of paper, NO STAMP. He said that when he sees the stamp it raises a red flag to him and he pulls them aside for additional questioning. He said the letter states that it is to be used along with expired green card when travelling internationally, why would anyone try to get a stamp as well. Maybe he just has brains and can read an official US document and believe in it! Ha ha! Hope that helps to all who might be wondering/stressing.

What bothers me is how random it is. How is it that one person gets it and another doesn't? I just hope the letter alone doesn't give me trouble.

Letter is fine unless you're planning a cruise to multiple countries. In which case its a little iffy.. Should be good for straightforward trip back home.

Well thats exactly it. I told him I was going on a cruise and that other countries might not accept the letter. he told me never had a problem, should be fine blah blah. WTH? Ugh very frustrating because I took time off from work for this useless thing.

Thought I would check in. Congratulations to those who got their approvals! Lucky devils ;) Looks like the rest of us in CSC will have to wait longer after some cases from VSC got transferred. The website says CSC is currently processing January 2015. Hmmm...

My greencard arrived in the mail on Saturday, Sept 26th! Done until I decide if I want to do citizenship. I hope the rest of you get your GC soon!

hello awkward soul

First of all congrats . We had our interview on sep 28 and the officer verbally told us that he is going to approve our case and we will get our card in mail but he did not gave us any approval letter nor he took mine expired GC. It has been a week and status is still my case received. we are getting little worried.

Can you please share your interview experience?? Did officer gave you any written approval or took your expired GC??
