Yes, Vermont seems very behind; they will probably forward some to CSC to help I would think. And I've heard Texas is also very very slow.

I am so FRICKEN MAD... Like steaming MAD. Went to my local office in Louisville (just left there) and they refused to stamp my passport. They said I haven't paid for the privilege.... He said legally he is not allowed to as I have all the evidence I need to prove I am a legal resident right now....

Congratulations to all approved May filers!

To anyone who has yet to receive their Biometrics:

So, being a little bored (and having a little too much free time) I decided to call into the second tier of USCIS Customer Service, spoke to a friendly gentleman who checked my case.

According to him, since my last Biometrics was done in December 2013 - even though that puts me over 15 months at this point - when my application was received, my biometrics were still valid. So at this stage, they are not looking to capture my biometrics at this point, hence the lack of a letter. He did provide me, graciously, the case number that I can track online -- which works!

I also decided, since there's some pending travel coming up for me (alongside me being overall paranoid most of the time), to engage my local congress representative. They gladly took my query, and escalated my case with USCIS which is now being handled by a different team. Since that point, I've already had two "touches" on my case -- while that doesn't necessarily mean anything in itself, it may be an avenue those of you still awaiting a Biometrics Appointment Notice can pursue to check things are running along smoothly.

Be prepared for the eternal waiting game. Be prepared for average news.

Hello my visa journey family! I just wanted to tell you guys that my GC expires on 08/05/2015 but as many of you know I was one of the first ones to go in my local uscis site and successfully get a stamp on my passport! I am traveling tomorrow to Cancun Mexico with my wife as a little gateway trip before going back to school! I would be lying if I said I'm not a tad bit nervous on the way back lol. Hopefully everything goes smooth when I come back in through the Houston, TX. Port of entry! I'm taking my expired green card, passport and extension letter! Okay, it's been 30 days since the service check was opened so my wife called yesterday. Sort of troubling...they said they did mail out a response though we never received it - and they didn't tell her the date they sent it so i suppose there is a slight chance it could show up within the next couple days. But, the agent did say that all the letter said was that they are experiencing delays and we are on the list so don't worry. She did confirm with them that they have our exact address on file. So at this point i think we're going to keep calling back once a week until we receive something.

Also, another wrench in our plans...my wife just found out yesterday that in a couple weeks she has to go to Mexico for 5 days (a monday-friday) for work. I don't think we have time to get an infopass appt scheduled to get a stamp before she leaves - and even if we did - I don't think she can get time off work. We have two vacations planned during the next 3 months and we're both using all our vacation time. So we're a little worried about her getting back in the USA when technically the date on her GC is expired. Will she be okay if she just takes the NOA letter with her that says her GC is extended for a year?

(plus then there's the fact that neither one of us are wild about being in separate countries...we already had enough of that during the visa process and we said we never wanted to be separated by that distance again! But that's a topic for another thread)

Looks as though perhaps USCIS is finally catching up with the late May filers - although I think it's no coincidence that contacting my local congress representative resulted in me getting a Biometrics appointment the very next day.

I'm being called in for an interview regarding my Lifting Conditions on September 14th. Uggg! Dang it, now I gotta find copies for everything I sent in, as well as take a day off to go in with my husband.

Are interviews chosen at random, or did I mess up my application/not bring enough evidence?
