Laucs and Lilygirl, I really recommend that you post your interview dates to the June Interview thread so they can update the spreadsheet. Up to date data in that spreadsheet is a big help for others waiting on interviews in the future, especially for those immigrating from Colombia.

Getting pretty excited with all the appointments scheduled and the travel arrangements finalized. It really feels close now and if everything goes well during the interview, she should be here in the US for the entire summer.

Hello everyone,

I was just reading about the doctors for the interview and I saw that some people complained about Dr. Roa (said he was making them pay extra fees and what not).

Have you heard anything like this? Any recommendations on what doctor to choose?

Thanks

Hey everone does anyone know if at the finger print appt before the interview is there another fee for that or is that included in the fees that we already paid to nvc ...and Also the visa fee after you get approved at your appt .. I know it says you have pay for this before you travel to the U.S. online with Uscis but how True is this and I called them and they said it takes 30days to process is that a fact ?? We went to the finger print appt and we were not charged anything. We had our appointment at 9 and were out be 9:45, the line is really long but it moved fast. I'm not sure of the other question you have.

We went with Rodolfo José Dennis located at Centro de Especialistas Fundación Cardioinfantil Cra. 13B No. 161-85 Torre H, Piso 1Bogotá. We called them all to schedule an appointment and they were usually rude. With this doctor the secretary was really nice, and also the doctor. My husband had his appointment at the beginning of the month. And he really liked this doctor

Sorry, that sucks :( We got case complete on 3/20 and got an email with the interview date on 3/25. They set the interview for 5/27 (yes, today, and it was APPROVED HELL YES). We should be able to pick up the visa on 6/10. If you have any questions shoot me a message. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the information. I'm going to see if we can switch to the doctor you noted. If not, we'll muddle through with Dr Roa. We were also wondering about the fingerprint appt, so that info is nice to have in advance. Six days away from our interview. We're getting a little antsy.

Congratulations, starspace!

Can you share any of the questions they asked during the interview?

Also, I note that the visa ready date is 6/10, 14 days after the interview. Are you having the visa sent to a city other than Bogota or do you plan to pick up the visa in Bogota?

Thank you! :)

Sure, here is what my husband said they asked:

- Who is asking for you in the USA? (like who is sponsoring him)

- Are you legally married?

- When did you get married?

- Where did you get married?

- How did you meet your spouse?

- Do you live in USA?

- How much time was your longest visit in the USA?

- Where will you live together?

- When was the last time your spouse was in Colombia?

- What is your wife doing now?

That was it. They asked for the passport and 2 photos but didn't even ask for the original marriage certificate, etc.

We are having the visa sent to Bogota. He will pick it up and then fly here the next day.

Good luck!

Heads up for anyone choosing a doctor for their in-Bogota medical appointment...

My wife saw Dr Mónica Caicedo yesterday and instead of simply passing her through the system, the doctor examined medical reports from my wife's personal doctor and decided to require her to see a specialist for further examination, despite the fact that the condition is almost 10 years old and has been treated very effectively with a prescription drug. This doctor has no bedside manner. Luckily my wife will be able to see the specialist today, prior to her embassy interview tomorrow, but it will necessarily delay notification of approval of visa until at least Thursday or Friday. Oh, and there are further costs associated with the specialist but that's the least of our worries.

Approved!!!!!!

Questions asked to my husband:

Your full name:

Who is asking for you in the USA?

How did you meet?

What does your wife do (career)?

How long ago did you meet?

When did you get married?

How many times has your wife came to Colombia?

When was the first time she came to Colombia to visit?

Have you been to the USA?

Have you ever been investigated, arrested or had any legal problems?

:dancing:

He got there at 7:30 and was out by 10:30. On the first window all his papers were checked and basic information asked (his name, my name, e-mail address, first time married?), and then after that I had to wait forever like 2 hrs and 45 min. After waiting I was called to the actual interview which lasted about 5 min and was told that I was approved, that my visa would be available in 2 weeks, and that I had to pay a fee online which is $165.
