Be patient! I had my interview on August 20th and IO didn't give me time frame but she recommended me for approval. I waited almost 90 days and today I finally got an update that I was placed in line for oath. It's been a frustrating wait but I am so grateful that it's almost over. Good luck to you all :)

You ARE required to demonstrate that you are in a valid and legitimate marriage and that you are living with your spouse in order to apply under the 3 year rule. You don't need to send all that stuff

Completed Interview yesterday and passed. I had asked to schedule for same day oath, as Dallas has same day oath scheduling, However I was told, they do same day scheduling only for folks who have travelled 150 miles or more to come to the interview. hence was asked to wait for the oath ceremony letter in 2 to 3 weeks.

I hope you get it soon!

I had my oathtaking ceremony today - it's 424 people from all parts of the world! The appointment was at 12:30am, but the ceremony started about 2:30pm - due to the number of people the USCIS officers took time to collect everyone's oath letters and green cards - and strictly assign you to rows. Once the ceremony started it's mostly the judge giving an opening speech, sung the national anthem, pledge of allegiance, and oath to the flag. Then the officers came back and distributed the naturalization certificates as per the assigned row. The judge stayed to offer photos with him, but I didn't spend time falling in line to get a photo and just headed home.

Got the oath ceremony letter. On the back of the letter there is a questionnaire that asks, From the interview to the oath ceremony, were you Cited, even for a traffic violation.

My wife had bumped in the car in front of her in the signal last week. There was no visible damage in the car, but since the other party called 911, she was cited.

I assume she should disclose this in the form.

Please let me know if there will be any implications or delays because of this.

She should disclose but the incident was very minor and it will not result in a delay. They are usually more concerned about criminal misdemeanors and felonies.

Correct! She needs to disclose that info on the form! Like the other member said, It won't cause any delays especially when you have proof that the the fine is paid off and cleared! Good luck!!

That isn't quite true. The person will NOT be able to naturalize on the day of the ceremony without final disposition of that citation.

Anything other than a parking ticket will trigger this.

OP needs to take that ticket to the city hall, get it paid, and get a receipt showing it has been paid.

Again, if you can't show final disposition, they will NOT let you take the oath.

She should disclose but the incident was very minor and it will not result in a delay. They are usually more concerned about criminal misdemeanors and felonies.


There was someone here 3 weeks ago who was denied the oath due to a speeding ticket. She was fighting the ticket in court, and could not provide final disposition on day of the ceremony. Had she known, she would have just paid the ticket.

That isn't quite true. The person will NOT be able to naturalize on the day of the ceremony without final disposition of that citation.

Anything other than a parking ticket will trigger this.
