Had my oath ceremony today in Brooklyn.... The moment sank in for me when we did the oath and pledge and heard the judge welcome us and then the grand moment when I got my certificate it's been quite a journey and I want to thank you all for sharing experiences which totally guided me along this path...thank you guys so very much, good luck to all those waiting and congrats to those who have made it

Mom had her citizenship interview today at downtown Los Angeles. Her appointment is at 2:20PM, we got there really early to avoid traffic, grabbed lunch and walked to the Federal building (at 93 degree weather, ohemgee). We checked in at 1:45PM. Mom was called in at exactly 2:20PM, and 20 minutes later, we were all called in (I was with the husband and our 4-year old son in the waiting room). The IO said that my Mom was his last interview for the day and he just wanted us to be there when he congratulates her for passing her interview. He thanked my husband for his service (IO was retired navy and hubby is Active Duty Air Force) and told us that he will *try* and recommend that my Mom have her oath on the 22nd, otherwise, she will do her oath in October. The questions that were asked were:

1. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?
2. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
3. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?
4. What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?
5. What did Susan B. Anthony do?
6. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

She was asked to read: How many U.S. Senators are there?

She wrote: We have 100 U.S. Senators

After a brief chitchat with the IO, we were out the door by 3ish and my 66-year old Mom was so relieved. It was a nice birthday present for her, especially on this historically marked day.

We will now be patiently waiting for that letter

tjsmkl your interview date should be coming soon.. I just got mine updated that they're scheduling me for interview. They mailed it today to let me know when is my interview..

Is there a workflow on how the internal processing steps are for the N400 application? When does it go to NBC, what stages are there? When does it come to field office?

I called the Tier-2 support on why my case is still in "Case Received" status, i was told, my background check came back only a couple of weeks ago and it is still under review. However for my wife, i was told, her background check came much earlier than mine and she should be receiving the interview date anytime soon. However both of our online statuses are sill "Case Received"..

I called tier 2 support again on friday. They said my background check got cleared only a couple of weeks back and it is currently under review. However they said my wifes background check came through right after the finger print in mid june but were not sure why she did not get in line yet. Guess they have messed up something. Hope they clear things up!! Best wishes to you.

Which number did you call for tier 2 support? My case was received on 5/15, finger printed on 6/10 and I have heard nothing since. I called the 1-800-375-5283 number the first time on 8/24, the agent submitted a service request on my behalf, saying I should receive an email on 9/9. No email arrived on 9/9 and I've called that 1-800 number twice after 9/9 but they seemed to have no clues what was going on, except reading the case status as on the My USCIS Case status website to me, or citing the processing time of my local office per the USCIS website.

Your tier-2 agent seemed to be much more helpful - I just want to know if I've called the wrong people.

No, my field office is San Francisco. Yes, there is suffering everywhere!

I can't understand the USCIS customer service's enthusiasm to read me something I already knew. Finally I know what to ask and they transferred me to an officer today. But as luck would have it, their system is down for the whole day today - so call again tomorrow (means jumping through the customer service hoop again tomorrow!).

I would much like to go to bed and wrap myself in a cocoon of blanket at this moment but I have to work .

Will keep you posted and cross my fingers for your case as well!

I received my N-14 request for additional documentation. They needed my state tax transcripts, but I called my state's revenue office, they said they don't issue transcripts - transcripts are only in the federal level (with IRS).

Can anyone here please tell me if they submitted W-2 info for their state tax document records? Or if there's anything else you submitted pertaining state taxes?

Hi everyone! I filed for naturalization on May 5th, received on May 8th, fingerprinting done on June 5th, in line for interview on June 8th, Interview scheduled notice on August 4th. The interview is on August 29th. I just received a text message from USCIS saying that my case has been updated, but I see nothing new on the page. The only part that may or may not have been there (I never paid attention) is the next steps "We will issue our decision and mail it to you. Any action or step you may need to take will be on your decision notice". This is quite strange. Has anyone had this happen before? (I got my green card back in 2009)

Edit: I just returned from a short trip to Mexico, so maybe the update to my case is re-entering the country?

applied for expedite last week,,no update,,now more than 80 days aftet FP!!! What i can do else i dont know,,my status is showing im in line more than 75 days!

Any suggestions? Office san Diego
