hello I have one more address question. I am applying for AOS from my J-1.

My wife is living at home with her parens in Kentucky as she is currently student teaching (till may).

I currently live 3 hours away in Alabama but may move within the next 2 months to Chicago.

What would you suggest? As my adress should I just use

- the one where she lives? (as I am there on the weekends), and her parents are always there

- Should I use the one in Huntsville which I will leave within 2-3 months,

- Wait with the whole process until I move to Chicago?

I did answer in your other post of the same topic yesterday....

If I were you I would wait and file for AOS after you have moved.... that way you will not have to deal with USCIS getting your address wrong and sending mail to your old address....

Up to you..

You are still going to have to update your wifes address within 10 days of her moving if you file now using her parents address... so still the problem of dealing with an address change...

If you wait and file with your new address then there would not be any address chane issues = less time in processing and less time for you to have to sort things out with USCIS after they get the address change..

I think you can use her parent's house at first if they are not planning to move for a while. Then you can change to your new address later. That way, she does not wait to process AOS and if immigration send mail to old address by mistake, it will be her parent's house who can always inform you about the mail. When you change the address, make sure you file AR-11 and also call local office for address change where your file is being processed. Good luck.

I agree- it is best not to go through Address change in the middle of processing, it could delay your case,

In your particular case if your in laws are ok with this, use the Kentucky address of Her parents,

Then establish a few accounts or have a few joint bills in both of your names sent to that address,( You will need these as evidence later) cell phone bill or joint credit card.

if you are ready to apply now then do so and do you best to avoid changing address.

Good Luck!
