Sending IV/AOS package before paying both fees

Hey guys I just got the case number by mail but no ds261 or aos Bill... Thanks for the help guys... This is probably a dumb question but what's the difference between federal income tax returns vs irs tax transcript? What is proof of assets? For evidence of income what should I have in bank account? Is there a minimum amount that's needed?

A tax return is what you send in to the IRS (1040,1040a,1040ez). A tax transcript is the official record of the tax return from the IRS. That is why The NVC ask for w-2s to be send in with tax returns as anyone can put any info on a tax return the NVC has no way to verify the info on the tax return without a w-2 or 1099 attach with It. If possible it is best to send in a tax transcript

you do not need any money in the bank unless you are using assets. Current income is the amount of money you will make for the year

Tax transcripts or tax returns with w-2's is fine....I did one tax transcript and two tax returns with w-2's.....we had no problem. I also provided almost a year of pay stubs, letter of employment with date hired, job title, and yearly salary, and a copy of my contract for next year to prove my current income. I turned in no documentation from the bank as my income was more than enough to meet minimum requirements.

You need to make 125% of the poverty level. The more people in your family the more money it is.

I'm showing my employment letter, tax returns w2s, and last 6 months of pay stubs... I hope that is enough for proof of income ... Still not sure what proof of assets are? And ss earnings statement?

The document cover sheet I received #3 is supporting documents... Is that iv package? Cuz I see lots of ppl r sending aos and iv package together before iv bill and ds 260 are available?

You do not need proof of assets if you make enough money or have joint sponsor

Proof of assets is cash or anything of value that you are able to use for all or part of the AOS income requirement

The AOS documents is everything you have stated in your post. You have enough for the AOS packet

IV packets is your wife civil documents .It is best to look at the requirement for your spouse embassy as each one has different type documents they will except.

Yes you can send in both packets before IV fee or DS-260 is fill out

That is the welcome letter check list. you can use that check list or the AOS document check list with your packets

Not everything will applied in your case .So you will put N/A for something that does not applied. Example military record if you have not serve in the military you will not have record so you will put N/A

Petition documents you will not send only if a joint sponsor is being use and the joint sponsor has another household member that person will have to show relationship to the joint sponsor that is what petition document is.

You should post questions here I think it will only help ppl, it seems both the bar coded are same cuz a lot of ppl are sending both aos and iv package together... Actually in the welcome letter from nvc it states to send them together and when I called nvc yday they had told me I can send them after paying aos bill and filling out ds261

yes the AOS, The IV and the welcome check list document cover sheet all have the same barcode with your case number

You can use any one of those as your cover sheeet

Where do u get the I-864 form from? Did u guys do ez?

In order to send your packages in, you need the bar coded sheet that you get after your fees have been marked as PAID on the payment portal. There is a bar coded sheet generated for the AOS and the IV, but they are the same. As soon as your AOS fee is paid, you can take that sheet and put it with both your AOS and IV packages and send them off.

Just keep in mind that it takes up to 30 days for your DS-261 to be reviewed, and your IV fee to be invoiced. Currently cases are being approved in as little as 16 (wow!) days, and the NVC operators are stating 30 days until your case gets reviewed, so if you're going to submit your packages early you need to be on top of getting your DS-261 reviewed so you can pay the IV and fill out the DS-260, or else you might get a checklist for the fee/form.
