Favorite childhood memory

I just got one of those gazillion-question emails, and the only question that I really cared about was "What is your favorite childhood memory" - because I LOVE thinking about those.

Probably my favorite childhood memory is when I was camping in Maine with my parents and my brother. My dad and I took a drive in the Chevy to the local clam shack. We got fried clams, and sat on the hood of the car and ate them. I was wearing a dark blue jacket, and my dad had black horn-rimmed glasses and a beard and mustache. He was the best dad ever.

My parents had me when my dad was 50 and my mom 32, i have a brother who's 11yrs older then me, so it was like i was an only child. I had a great childhood!! I was very close to both my parents, but the one memory that stands out most is going ice fishing lol I think i was 3 yrs old when i first went. It was an all day affair, mom cooking hamburgers on the coleman stove inside the shanty, fishing and playing outside on the ice, ice skating, we even brought the dog with! It was so much fun. To this day i still love to go out ice fishing, but sadly my fishing buddy (my dad) isnt here anymore

I spent most of my childhood in a small town in Quebec. I always loved the Cabane a Sucre they had every year- when they laddled the boiled maple syrup on your bucket of snow and it turned to taffy. Yum!

My grandparents lived up the street from us- My grandfather would always give us a quarter when we went to visit. Then I was always off to the candy store. Back then a quarter got you lots of candy.

I was a really fat kid.

I grew up in CT, and we had a very rustic camp/cabin in Northern NH. My favorite memory is when we would drive up to NH, we would cross the border between VT and NH and would always stop at a grocery store where my parents would allow me to get potato chips. Trust me, parents did not allow junk food in the home so that was a HUGE DEAL!!!!

Of course, going to NH as a kid also meant excursions to Storyland and Santa's Village (incredible younger kid-oriented amusement parks).

I'm sorry. My dad passed away too. That's why these memories are so nice to have. (F)
