How is a US tourist visa good in Mexico?

I not buying that....

Well check out this link: https://mexico.visahq.com/requirements/Philippines/resident-United_States/

visiting Mexico as tourists, transmigrate or for business matters will not need a visa for Mexico as long as they hold a valid US visa and arrive in Mexico from the United States

Interesting

So that means you my wife who does not have a greencard can just use her K1 visa to get into Mexico?

Or does she need to go to Mexico consulate and get a Tourist Visa

My wife just got approved for AP and EAD today and I would love to take her to Cancun for a few days

It might be gamble with just the K1 and AP card, a few dollars and a couple hour at the Mexico consulate might be a better bet

The key word is a valid visa... the K-1 is invalidated the second a person clears POE.

Why not just wait to take your vacation? I don't think a vacation is worth risking having problems getting back into the USA

I will wait until AP is in hand. If I see a great deal to Cancun then I will pull the trigger. I can usually get 4 days in Cancun from Dallas for $400 per person all inclusive includes airfare/hotel/food/drinks

Technically a filipino would need a visa for Mexico, but they don't check anything. The only concern you need to have is your return to the US. If you are going on a cruise they will make sure you have everything you need. I wouldn't assume 2009 is accurate for up to date rules regarding travel on a cruise, it is constantly changing and in 2009 not all driver's licenses worked, they needed to be the SSN checked versions with a star. I haven't checked on my last cruises because I have a passport but that may have changed.
