When is my deadline?

Hello, everyone.


Does anybody know, when my deadline for sending the package to NVC is, if NOA-2 is dated by May 24th 2014, but I was paying AOS and visa fees in November and December 2014? It's for my Mom's immigration I-130.


NOA-2 says, I have 1 year withing which I have to contact them. If ,they don't hear from me within a year, the petition is closed. But probably, that year now counts from the time I last submitted the fees. Am I right?

I-130 Sent : 2015-07-10 - sent from abroad, auto-expedite

I-130 NOA1 : 2015-07-14

I-130 Approved : 2015-08-13 (30 days)

Received by NVC: 2015-09-02 (in 20 days after the approval) - no email notification, info obtained over the phone

Case # assigned: 2015-09-10 (in 8 days after the case was received) - no email notification, info obtained over the phone

DS-261 filled: 2015-09-14

AoS fee paid: 2015-09-15

DS-261 reviewed over the phone:2015-09-17

Agent registration email: 2015-09-18

IV fee available: 2015-09-18

IV fee paid: 2015-09-22

IV fee showed paid: 2015-09-23 right before the end of the working day at NVC - at almost midnight EST.

AoS and IV package received: 2015-09-23

DS-260 filled out 2015-09-24

Scan date: 2015-09-24

Now let's get some patience for 3 weeks and hope CC will come without any delays :luv:

Case complete: 2015-10-21 (27 days)

Interview date issued: 2015-10-23

Received by the embassy: 2015-11-12

Interview date: 2015-12-02 (Request to reschedule for the earlier time denied.)

Approved!!!

Visa issued: 2015-12-07

Visa in hand: 2015-12-07

US entry: 2015-12-11

Social Security card arrived only after the visit to SS office, on 01/20

Green Card arrived: 2016-01-27

From NOA-1 to the interview - 141 days (4 months and 18 days)

I have sent 3 emails to NVC inquiry. How soon do they normally answer?

I emailed NVC a question on Feb 17th, and got a response on April 4th. It's useless.

You are better off calling them. Their number is 1 (603) 334-0700.

Usually you have to call 5-10 times to get through, then wait on hold for at least 20 minutes... but's it the fastest way to get an answer.

2014-10-20: NOA1 Received in mail. Case sent to Vermont Service Center

2014-11-25: Case approved at USCIS

2014-12-09: Case got to NVC

2015-01-13: NVC assigned a case number and invoice # (obtained via phone)

2015-03-06: AOS invoice received via email

2015-03-06: AOS invoice paid online

2015-03-07: Submitted DS-261 Agent Form online

2015-03-26: Sent AOS and IV packages (hard copy) in one package

2015-03-30: NVC received AOS and IV packages

2015-04-24: AOS and IV packages reviewed and complete

2015-04-24: IV invoice received via email

2015-04-30: IV invoice paid online

2015-05-04: Submitted DS-260 Form online

2015-05-04: Received email acknowledgment from NVC about DS-260 Form submission. It said the review will take Up To 30 Business Days!

2015-06-05: Called NVC to request case be reviewed by supervisor since past 30 days... case in limbo

2015-06-15: Another supervisor requested the case for review...

2015-06-19: NVC Case Complete (learned over the phone)

2015-06-26: Received NVC email about Case Complete, dated 26-JUN-15

2015-07-15: P4 Email came about interview scheduling, scheduled for August 25

2015-07-24: Medical

2015-08-12: Interview in Tbilisi, Georgia (Original interview date was August 25)

2015-08-19: ELIS fee paid

2015-09-12: POE JFK

2015-10-03: Green Card Arrived

2015-10-09: Applied for SSN Card at the SSN Office

2015-10-16: SSN Card Arrived
