post bond?

My finace's uncle (whom is an American resident and our co sponsor)was looking at the I-134 and saw a section that said by signing this document he was indicating he would be responsible to post a bond of my finace if the government requested. Does anyone know why they would ask for this and how much it would be?

This is not an expert response, and is in no way guaranteed, but it is very doubtful you or your uncle would ever be asked to actually post a bond. The I-134, like most forms you will fill out during the K-1 process, is used for many types of government purposes so this is probably an item which fits another type of applicant.

Having said that, I have also not seen anyone post here who indicated they were ever asked to post a bond.

Perhaps some of the veterans around will be able to tell you if this ever happens for K-1 filers, but I imagine you should not worry too much that a posting of bond will be requested.
