My local Acme supermarket sells PG tips, also Tetley British Blend of teabags which I find are as good as the ones I used to drink back home.

I love that place :) I would've gone there ages ago to get supplies but we don't have a car and it takes a while to get there from Long Beach on the bus... We were thinking of moving to Santa Monica just for that pub/shoppe!

it looks like I've just been shopping with my eyes closed, I'll do some looking around this weekend :)

I think the real tea can just be very hard to spot when hidden amongst about 4,000 different varieties of fruit-flavoured abominations which call themselves 'tea'. And then when you finally do get excited because you think you've found proper tea (y'know, actually made of tea, as opposed to raspberry leaves or stinging nettles or whatever)... you realise it's decaf!!

Good luck on your tea hunt! :)

You're in Long Beach? I'm originally from across the bridge in Pedro . . . . I haven't had to do too much tea shopping down there as I live in NorCal now - but, check places like Vons - the larger ones can have surprisingly complete international food sections. I found one up here that had malteasers and everything. Overpriced but still there.

Also - any local specialty markets around? There's an Italian supermarket in Sacramento that carries PG Tips. Trader Joe's routinely carries Yorkshire Gold or whatever teas. It may be easier to find than you think - I'm always shocked when I find stuff where I'd never seen it before (mainly because I hadn't ever been looking before).

featherB mentioned the Tetley British Blend...Craig drinks tea like it comes out of the tap, and it's only 2.12 for 80 bags at our Walmart here and he really likes it! I was surprised he liked it so much, but he likes it about as well as what he used to drink. (don't rem. what that kind was...) M.
