The longest DH and I were apart was a year and a half. Yeah, we're tough.

That is really good. Was it intended? My longest is 6 months, but adter this past 6 months, just before the last visit, I felt we really could have gone a long time longer. Maybe at least another 6 months. I think we had gotten into the swing of it, and since we had an interview date it made things easier.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Yes there are a lot of us going to see our honeyz. Im leaving on march 8th and returning on the 16th of April. If I stay till the 20th, Id be there for our 1 year anniversary but I have to get back to my daughter. I am really looking forward to staying, but I am not lokoing forward to having to leave him again, ya know?

I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No babies for us, yet. Not until he gets here. I cant see myself sending himd pictures of our child and looking at the baby over a webcam. Nor can I stand the thought of him possibly not being here for the delivery. Its hard enough for us to see each ohter at times. Besides, he has to be here from the very beginning unti the very end. That would take something away from the pregnancy for the both of us.

Private, so you are going, huh?

Pray with me Forrest! Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here..... Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here!

Ticket pricing schedule roughly: These are rough estimates...vary place to place and specials

Jan 2 - Mar 31 cheapest fares to anywhere ($700 rnd trip max to ME/NA)

April 1-May 25 roughly $200 more

May25 -Sept 9 Peak season, highest rates add about $400-600 to your fare depends where you go (prices up to $1800/2000 MENA)

Sept 10 - Nov 22 Fares go down again, ($1000 -1200)

Nov 23-Nov 25 Thanksgiving rates they go again

Nov26- Dec 20 Rates again cheap...

up until Dec20- Jan 2 when they are second highest in the year (but many times some deals going to MENA, as not many ppl travel there for Christmas)

FYI: Last minute cancelation tickets are great...rare deal, generally last minute travel more $... Last minute cancelations are more rare in the summer and more frequent Jan - March. Good if you donnot require a visa for the country you want to go to

Allow 2 weeks from time you look/buy ticket to when you fly... is cheaper that way

Prices go up for return ticket after either 1 month, add about another 100-125$ then 1month to 3month add another $100 and then another $100 anytime after that.

If you miss your flight (your fault not airlines) or want to change the flight you add $100-200 per flight for this adjustmet

Many agents do nnot sell 'open tickets' but this is all I ever buy. I buy the ticket, at a slightly higher rate...usually $150-200 more...and this way I can say when I come back...without having to pay extra 200$ per flight (in my case it would be 400-600) and not deal with rude customer service ppl)

OOOPs I wnated to edit that, but will not let me:

Ticket pricing schedule roughly: These are rough estimates...vary place to place and specials <

Low Season

This period begins the second week of January until April 1st and begins again in September until the first week of December

Shoulder Season

This period begins April until June 1st

Peak season

This period begins Jun 1st until August 31st and begins again in December until the first week of January\

With most economy class published airfares its also cheaper to travel on "Monday - Wednesday" and more expensive on Thursday - Sunday

You may get deals around CHristmas for MENA thou, since not many ppl travel there that time<BR>FYI: Last minute cancelation tickets are great...rare deal, generally last minute travel more $... Best to buy tickets from COnslidaters whether onnline or agents

Check published vs unpulished fares

Donnot travel on the weekend

And compare prices in general

Airlines offer discounts when you stay at least a Saturday night at your arrival destination and return back within 90 days. If you won't be returning for some 3 months or longer, these airfares may be slightly higher

Flying direct is the fastest route, but you pay for this service. Sometime stopping and changing planes in a connecting city is cheaper even though it's an extra hassle.

It has been almost a year for me . . . so this year I will be there for our anniversary . .. and maybe I'll kick some butt to get him home!!!

good luck catherine... this is long overdue! btw, could you bring me a costume? :P jk

Costume??? sure thing . . . easiest thing in the world to do . . . LOL, buying a costume for another dancer, hehe!! Best you should wait till you are in Dallas for Fifi Abdo . . . I have a feeling that there will be lots of costumes for sale at that time . . . but not so cheaply purchased as when you buy it yourself in Cairo!

I wanna go with everyone!!!!! :crying::crying::crying:

I'll go for about 9 or 10 days towards the end of July. IRS says my taxes should be deposited tomorrow so I get to book my ticket then!!! What a great feeling that is and it's awesome to be able to have a nice thing to look forward to in all this mess of a situation.

Moody I feel for ya. On the one hand you probably want to just go for a week or two to be with him since it's been so long but then it would be annoying if he came home the following week. Wish we could all have a set date of when they'll be denied or approved so we can plan for this stuff!!!!

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.
