I have been in receipt of my green card since September 2006 but today I get the following email:

Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On September 20, 2006, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Case Status & Processing Dates.

I take it that all is ok and this is some sort of glitch in their system??? Has anyone else received a similar sort of email months after being approved????

03/31/2009 Date of Decision

05/01/2009 Card production ordered

Well it is better than them sending a note of interview de-scheduling, and the local office not knowing, and putting you down as a no-show, that happens too.

I should have realised it was a mistake and it should have gone to RebeccaJo and Wes instead!!!

Joking aside RebeccaJo I hope that its not too much longer for you and your husband to get your approval notice. Its way long overdue!

They are so out of it..incompetent, unorganized etc..

Today is my I can't stand USCIS day.

Hopefully we'll see a spate of approvals this week! :)

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

Thanks. We appreciate that. I'm sort of starting to get used to this situation though. As long as he can work and we can get a mortgage I think we are just going to try and make the best of it.

It's funny but I had actually been sitting here thinking I hadn't checked his case status today. Then I read your post. I thought to myself....####### why bother? If I saw an approval on there, after reading this I sure wouldn't believe it...... :P

In my case, it seems to be the norm. I have already been approved and have my GC in hand, but my biometrics appointment email is still missing. I expect to get it in early March ;)
