I was hoping someone on here had the lead on getting Canadian TV channels here in the US. I'm thinking that a satellite provider would be the best bet but I haven't seen anything on their programming.

I want Amy to feel like she has a little bit of home here in Portland. Hockey Night in Canada would really help that! :-)

When I was growing up in Montana our cable came with the Lethbridge, AB station. That was pretty cool.

Oh I wish I could find it too - I miss Royal Canadian Air Farce and This Hour Has 22 Minutes! Sometimes there are special events that you can 'watch' on CBC over the computer, such as the elections, but not regular programming.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

You can move to Northern New Hampshire. We pick up Canadian channels here on our cable (my guy is in heaven). Of course, you have to live with no sushi for miles around (well, not much ethnic food at all), hitting a moose when driving is a big possibility, 20 below F temps. Its a trade off :):lol::lol:

Take ExpressVU or Star Choice with you... of course, you'll need someone to pay for it for you...

that's what i'm looking into doing, with the billing address to my mom's back home.

many snowbirds that go to the same condo's as my grandma bring them with them for the winter for this reason.

but, if you don't want to do that, the NHL Centre Ice package shows HNIC. Just not all of Hockey day in Canada, only World Jr. games are ones the US is in and no NHL showboat game. Not sure what kind of playoff coverage they will have.

However since they do not have the liscence to broadcast in the states they are pretty strickt about enoforcing this. They have ways technical and logistical to know where the unit is being used and will immediately disconect the account once they find out.

If she needs a Don Cherry fix, they have his Coach's Corner segments logged on cbc.ca :)

I recall yrs back when CBC was going to drop Cornation Street (or maybe change the time) And their was a huge uproar!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
