Hi Everyone!!

It has been a while since I last posted on VJ so let me give a quick update:

1. We are loving every bit of married life!

2. Since receiving my EAD I now have a job working as a computer programmer

3. Our green card interview is this week!

We are gathering together all our paperwork and checking we have everything. We realize the need to take copies of everything as well as the originals but when we are taking all previous immigration paperwork, evidence of relationship etc is it necessary to get all copies certified or is it sufficient for us to just copy it ourself? Obviously our I-864 is notarized, I am referring to the other documents like copies of the I-129F.

The other question is given that we are going to be taking bank statements showing our joint account, is it sufficient to use print outs of online statements? I don't really want to have to pay the bank for them to print the same thing!

Thanks!

Pete

Copies you make yourself are sufficient, since you are bringing the originals along. Certified copies are only required if they are "copies" to begin with (such as with divorce decrees etc). Then make copies of these as well, in case the officer wants to keep them.

On-line printouts were fine for my interview. A lot of companies only give you online printouts for benefits, for example.

You don't need notarized copies since you have the originals with you. Also, if you don't have copies ask them to return you the originals (I told him he could keep them all except for the health insurance card and the visa card.) The rest - bank statements, medical insurance bills etc. - I didn't need copies (I had scanned them and can use the scanned copies if I ever need them.) Don't worry too much; its not too bad. Good Luck
