after having watched the video again and clearly hearing the office order him to drop the weapon several times, I think the cop that ran him down deserves a medal.

Quick devise action that did not jeopardize himself or others and eliminated the threat.. Bravo

It looks like he was not caught between the car and an obstruction, being thrown clear left. That would definitely increase the chances for survival. :thumbs:

But the impact sure looks like it hurts.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
