DoHS Snafu-Where Do I Go From Here?!

So, Hubs and I arrived in the States in July of 2013, 2 days after our second wedding anniversary. Which entitled him to an unconditional 10 year visa. The problem is, they initially issued him a CR-1 visa and we had to send in the paperwork to get it fixed (it was). We just got a letter from Homeland Security stating that it's time for him to file his I-751. But he DOESN'T-he's got his green card that shows his 10 year status. Would our best bet just be to make an appointment at our local office and try to get it straightened out that way? So frustrating-but obviously, we don't want his status revoked. TIA!

The only other thing I can think is to actually send in the I-751. I'm afraid doing that might make it worse.
