Okay, yesterday i went to do my biometrics again because they had expired. The guy only took my fingerprints, but no picture was taken.... When i first applied for AOS my fingerprints and my pic were taken!

Has anyone had their fingerprints retaken without any picture?

I'm a little worried now because im affraid that this will lead to USCIS to canceling our AOS interview appt which was supposed to be next mth.

Take a look at your biometrics appointment letter. What ASC code did it have? "1" or a "3"?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think it is a big deal.

Do you know how long are biometrics valid for? I had my AOS biometrics back in January 2005, and my interview is in 2 weeks, making my biometrics a year and 2 months old. When my case was reopened in December (long story I won't bore you with), the officer said I would probably need to get biometrics done again. Does this mean I have to pay the $70 fee again, or can I just make the appointment and use my original NOA?

You don't need toy pay the $70 again. We had to do biometrics again after our successful interview.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Thanks! I guess my interview is within the 15 months, albeit 2 weeks shy, so I don't think I'll mess around getting new ones done before the interview.

I wouldn't worry about your biometrics. I'm sure if there is any problem with them, the worst that will happen will be having to go and get them done again. They wouldn't cancel your interview, they would just tell you to go and get new biometrics afterwards, and your case will be approved when they are received.

The picture taken at biometrics was probably for your EAD. EAD biometrics include picture and a thumb print.

The worst case scenario I can see is they might send you to have your photo retaken if they realize that the one on file is not current enough. They are not going to deny your AOS on the basis of a lacking photograph. At the very most, it will cause a brief delay. If they decide they do need a new photograph you may very well be able to get that done the same day as the interview. Others here have had to do that and it doesn't seem a big problem. Good luck at the interview.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

kc, my biometrics were for AOS....I had the first set done 17mths ago when i first applied, but they also took my picture..

For some reason, when i went on Friday, they only took my fingerprints..

You are going to be okay. It is only the fingerprints that "expired". Your digital photo and digital signature are still valid and will be the ones used when they make your GC.
