I'm starting to stress a little about the wait time for Montreal interviews ... I've been confident up until recently that my move date of June 30th would be plenty of time to get things accomplished ... now I'm not so sure. We want to make all of the arrangements for a wedding in Vegas July 8th ... does it look like I'm dreaming?

Met in Cleveland 07/07/05 ... Fireworks!!!

Emails and phone calls until first visit back September '05

Many trips to Cleveland and overnight stays in New York

Engaged 05/07/06

07/18/07 - Interview yeeehaaa .. approved

07/26/07 - received Visa from Montreal (should have received 07/24)

07/26/07 - POE Buffalo, NY (Peace Bridge) .. No EAD stamp

07/27/07 - Beautiful marriage .. now you may call me Mrs. :)

07/28/07 - Filed AOS,EAD, and AP for me and AOS and AP for my son via UPS .. received 08/01

08/16/07 - applied for ssn

09/03/07 - received ssn card

11/07/07 - AP approved and received 11/12/07 :)

11/19/07- EAD approved online and received same day (actual approval 11/07/07) :)

12/27/07 - AOS transferred to CSC

02/26/08 - 485's approved without interview

01/14/09 - Sent I-751 - removal of conditions

02/23/10 - Biometrics

03/17/10 - Removal of conditions approved .. card production ordered

the big mistake is to plan for a certain date before you have the visa. there is no telling how long montreal will take. you may have to move the date back or even move it sooner. just be flexible on your date.

From our experience, MTL is taking approximately 8 weeks to set a date for K-1 interviews, (sending packet 4) followed by the actual date approximately 4 weeks thereafter. So the going assumption is now to anticipate about 3 months from the time MTL receives the packet 3 until you have your actual interview. However, this is subject to change in light of the recent changes in MTL's scheduling procedures. It would appear that they are at least making an effort at speeding up the interview process by scheduling more interviews in the afternoons, followed by mailing the visas out in a day or two after the interview.

Thanks for the reply's ... I'm just more or less fishing for opinions on whether or not it is possible ... I think it is ... but it just looks like things have slowed down sooo much ...

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

when I went through, indeed it was---3 weeks to get package 4, 30 days after that for interview on average. Now with DCF and all the different changes, there's been some slowdown back to previous wait times, by my estimation.

Im on a K-1, its been 10 weeks (Nov 27) now since I sent my checklist...still no news and doesnt look like its gonna happen soon.

The only one I heard about lately sent her list on Nov 15, but she said she called them every week asking to be scheduled because she had a job waiting.....dunno if it helped but well see.

yeah, i'm more than a little stressed ... we applied for our K1 back in April 06 and were told that planning our wedding a year from then was MORE than enough time... we planned it for May of this year .. and that date cannot be changed... everything is booked. we received/submitted our checklist at the end of December. I would reallly love to start seeing some Montreal March/April appn't dates ... Vancouver is rockn'and rollin in their scheduling .. what's wrong with Montreal? Too many visas probably ... this waiting is consuming me :(

sorry to vent .. we're all going thru the same thing i know ....
