Honestly - we were nervous as hell before our interview, but it was actually fun with the lady we had.

She had almost no questions for my fiance, most of the questions were directed at me. Where did I stay when I was there, where did we go, who are the people in the pictures she had of us.

The pictures questions were weird because she was looking through them, not showing me, and asking questions about it...lol

When asked how we stood in communication, I mentioned Whatsapp and she laughed and said how everyone is scared to say Whatsapp and Facebook and she doesn't know why.

The only question that stumped me was when she asked why didn't we marry first, instead of going for a K1. When I told her she stumped me - she laughed and said don't worry about it.

Don't sweat it too much. You'll be so pissed about the long wait time, you'll be happy to be at the window just to get it over with.

My wife and I had our interview last week on April 9, just been so busy selling things in the house here and preparing to leave have had no real time to write a full review.

First off there is no rooms, you go to the window, secondly someone said DR requires the petitioner to be there, that is false..we observed three people two men and one woman alone at the interview, one of the men was for a CR1 and the woman was for a K1.

The first step is they give you a ticketed number, your then called to the window to give your DS160/DS260, police certificate and medical results if you opted to pick up your medical yourself. Wait to be called for interview then. In our case wife had to be fingerprinted again even though she did it at the VAC. We were called 15 minutes later, interview was with a black american female mid 30's dreads in her hair. She started off guns blazing then relaxed as she saw she was not shaking me.

Most of the questions were to me.

Where I work

Who pays her rent

How many times have I visited

Do we have a robust sexual relationship

I see your a veteran, have you killed anyone?...

That question rattled me but I kept my cool and answered

She then ask for the photo album

She ask how old my children are I told her 24 and 18

She ask how old are you? (in disbelief)

She ask did my children meet my wife

Showed her the pictures of my wife and my children at a resort in Puerto Plata at our home here in DR and from this past Christmas.

She looks at me and ask how old are my wifes children

As I was about to answer

She says welcome to the USA.

Tell me visa will be delivered in about two weeks but they are being delivered in about 5-7 days

My wife are standing there like ####### just happened and my wife ask

Hey explain to me again, is my visa approved?

She answers it was approved 10 minutes ago I just needed some questions for the folder.

My wife ask her again and she tells her In English and Spanish VISA APPROVED!

WE kiss hug and leave.

Basically that was it.

I will still make a full review later.

Just busy preparing to get up out of here, and trying to stop her from shopping at every online store on the internet for delivery to our home in NY upon our arrival!

Another fun fact about my case (fun for us, not for anyone else.)

Everyone in the consulate looks angry and beaten down - DOES ANYONE HERE DISAGREE?

We seemed to be the first couple there that got approved for anything, and displayed it by jumping and hugging. You had to see the look on everyone's face afterwards. It was hilarious, people even stated talking smack about us and you could see the hate in some peoples eyes...

We didn't care, we were just happy to get that part of the journey over with. Ugh, little did we know we celebrated a bit too early and ended up waiting 40 days for the VISA to be issued.

so true, I was telling my wife why does everyone look like they are at a funeral. we were laughing and joking and having a good time. We did see a few sanky panky couples also who appeared super nervous. To me I can only say relax, smile and just know that the journey is just about over once you get in the building, at this point the visa is yours to win or loose.

AND DON'T GET ANGRY. We saw one guy angry as hell with his kids there and he was escorted out right away, and he was immediately apologetic - but they told him come another time.

Don't freak out even a little bit - those guys are incredibly serious there. The slightest display of anger will cost you a ton of time and money.

I wish those security guys was there the day of our interview.. there was a special needs child there, about ten years old that had a soft stuffed animal that was walking around the sitting area hitting basically every woman in the head with his stuffed animal...including my wife! It was somewhat humorous but I also observed the amount of restraint everyone displayed at this moment

Evidence??..

My husband and I have been debating if the evidence needed (Dating pictures,proposal night pictures,official engagement pictures,weeding pictures,honeymoon pictures,emails,conversation etc etc etc) do we need these on a memory stick or can we take the actual album and printed conversations. He tells me everything needs to be in a memory stick, I still believe you can still take physical evidence..Help please

memory stick will not be allowed in the building, won't make it past security. hard physical evidence is what you need to bring

We jst had our interview April 1st. You can go to my timeline to see how everything went. But for clarification we were not separated. I was asked the majority of the questions and Jr was only asked like 4. We did go over questions before and while waiting to kill time.

I just wanted to pop in and second that the petitioner doesn't need to be there. My fiance's interview lasted less than five minutes and I did not attend and we were approved!
