G-325A and partial parent birthdates

My fiance cannot find a full birthdate for his parents, only the years.

-If he just puts that, is it okay?

-Or should he use question marks to show the month and day are unknown but fill in the year, like: ?/?/19xx

-Or just say unknown, even though they know the years?

What is best? Like everyone else, we don't want to make some error (especially such a minor one) and cause a dely.

Only a few more items and I can put all the stuff together and send off the K1 petition! We get the Vermont office and I'm curious to see if ours will go fast and smoothly. Insh'Allah.

My fiance did not know his father's DOB so we left it blank. I figured it was fine because it says "if known".

You can write UNKNOWN if you don't know. That is allowable. If there is no mention of a father on the BC than you can send that in as proof.

THe birth of my fiance's parents was not recorded at all, so he didn't even know the years. I just put BIRTHDATE UNKNOWN and got approved just fine.

Since we do know the year, i guess we were wondering whether it was better to give the partial information, or just leave it as unknown.

So they know we didn't forget to add the day and month, he is just going to put ?/?/yyyy

That should get the point across.
