We've decided to do her AOS here instead of going back to Tokyo. Seems pretty straightforward, but there are a couple vague things still (surprise!) after reading through all the guides here, form instructions and USCIS web pages that I could find.

1. We have to file G-325A forms with the I-485. New ones or copies of what we already filed? I'm assuming new ones for original signatures. Not a big deal because they are easy to do electronically.

2. She just had her medical on 1/9 in Tokyo, but all she got was a copy of her X-Ray and DS-3025. No I-693 that the I-485 is asking for. Does she need to get a new medical here or will they have record of an I-693 from a couple months ago that would have presumably been in her super-secret sealed package?

3. Not knowing how long any kind of AOS would take, we've already applied for her EAD. The I-485 is saying that an I-765 is optional, so I'm assuming we'll get her EAD and use it until her AOS is complete and the two processes won't interfere with each other?

Thanks,

KZ

1. Found the answer to this one: They want a new G-325A.

2. Found this too. Supposedly, they will have her medical on file...

Now, something new to be fuzzy on: From what I can see, the NVC will send her I-130 back to the USCIS, assuming we're going to AOS here. Will they send us a Choice of Agent form to confirm this? How do we inform them that we're adjusting here?

1. Fill out new G325A with original signatures.

2. Usually if the medical was done within the last 1 year of filing for AOS, then you should be fine. The medical information was included in the packet your wife gave to immigration upon her arrival at POE. I would write a letter with the AOS filing explaining when the medical was done. Your wife needs to include an I-693A Vaccination Supplement with the AOS. Call up a civil surgeon and ask them if they will transcribe the vaccinations done on form DS-3025 to the I-693A. Some will do this for a small fee. Or your wife can go to a civil surgeon and get vaccinated all over again.

3. The EAD and AOS shouldn't interfere with each other.

Her DS-3025 was done in English, so I was thinking about just including a copy of that with a letter of explanation since they should already have her medical on record. I can't find an I-693A on the USCIS site.

I-693A is only available from a USCIS designated civil surgeon. The doctor fills out that form.
