Actually, tiffs mom had 5......

Tiffs father had 8 siblings. And a non surviving twin....

The Dane's mom and my mother were both one of 8 and my grandmother was one of 19. Not many of the 19 survived between the flu outbreak and the famine.

I think the difference was back then that they didn't really helicopter their kids, just kind of shoved them out the door and told them they'd see them back at dinner. Plus, they expected them to do all the household chores and care for younger children. I wish that we could find some sort of balance between the two ways today.
