But now poor Jonas is getting a house for you guys, and now you're leaving....

yes i am leaving, but the house loan could be 1/3 paid off by the time i return. maybe more, but i still want to put money into other things as well.

a few days ago, we were packing and i was throwing away my half-used malay spices. no way i want to keep spices around for a year or more until i return. a little later, when i looked in one of the moving boxes, i saw them secretly hidden under some pasta boxes. i was like...what are these doing here? he said he wants to keep them in the kitchen cabinets for a little while at least so that he'll feel like i'm close by. <3

oh ok...loan officer just said earliest we can sign is tomorrow evening. (on friday she said latest we will sign is today evening). back to feeling hopeless.

yeah! Will you still be able to close the house before you leave?

unlikely...or even if it closes before i leave, we probably won't get the keys until after i leave.

is it unreasonable for me to forward both her emails to her, cc her boss, and ask what caused the change in timeline? i'm just so frustrated that we can never get a clear answer. if the delay is due to the home inspection receipt, i'd be happy to forward the our email to her where it was attached many weeks ago, and ask why it is this was asked for, provided, but never submitted.

Health care in the USA is a business and it shouldn't be. I had a discussion with a pharmacy tech at my work on Friday about how she has the type of plan I do, but with Kaiser. She went to do some preventative care, which was classified as such in her TOS, but they still charged her for it. Almost a year later she was still fighting the charge when some charity group or something paid it. Yeah it was nice of them but she was still annoyed because the bill shouldn't have existed. So now the company recieved money when there shouldn't have been a bill!

That kinda stuff is why I haven't seen a doctor since I left Canada. We're changing plans next year. But it worries me. I hte the fact that I'm so worried about seeing a ###### doctor for a yearly visit and not knowing how much it would cost me out of pocket if it's not covered.

My preventative care bill was listed about $350.

We are a "market economy" dear....

This is how it works.

Best thing you can do is find an employer with great medical benefits. Like us.

My family's plan cost almost 30k a year.

how do you cook lamb chops?

Pan fry?

If I was you and the stupid bank is within driving distance, I would have go in there and demand to speak to the boss already. :)
