You guys got this news before it was news :)

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/slain-nypd-officers-kin-throw-pitch-mets-game-article-1.2183465

Did you not get an actual copy of the deed?

With our closing, I got a copy of the purchase contract at the closing (done by a lawyer of course) and then I also got a copy of the deed/title which supposedly is a massive pain in the ### to replace and would cost around $1000 to do so. It has papers from the original house transfers in it, so it might be going into a lockbox at the bank or just in the fire safe for now.

did you know that fire safes are very bad for keeping documents? because it's air tight/ water tight?....... :o

I'm debating getting a box at the bank depending on the price, but if it floods, the bank is not waterproof.

I think they have "Document fire safes", they're not expensive. It's just a firesafe with a couple of holes drilled into it....

So parchment material won't get mildewy.....

when getting a safe deposit box, always try to get the one immediately above the floor.

Think about that for a second......

That's the most difficult row to pry with a tool, and the last boxes that robbers will target.

Of all the crime scene photos that I've seen, the bottom row is always unscathed.

the worst position for a safe deposit box (mine), is arm to eye level ones. Those are the first ones to get broken in to.

I'm gonna tell you a joke.....

There's a moral to the story.....

Ready?

There was an older guy, like Tark, he bought a grandfather clock at a garage sale.....

His Pontiac broke down, so he had the clock strapped to his back and he was walking home with it....

But the clock was heavy, and he had a broke back, like Tark....

Soon, he was hunched over and started stumbling along the sidewalk.....

Finally, he loses his footing and he stumbled forward, colliding head on with another guy, and the clock launched off his back.

It lands 15 feet in front of him, and is smashed into a thousand pieces....

Frustrated, he snaps at the guy he bumped into....

"You blind fool, why don't you watch where you're going, like everybody else?!"

The guy snaps back; "you ole geezer, why don't you get with the times and wear a wrist watch, like everybody else?!"

Now, for the moral of the story.

"You hillbilly, why don't you get a cell phone, like everybody else?!"
