Makes you wonder if people are only living a good life so they can go to heaven or if they're living a good life because they want to be a good person even without someone watching over them.

BTW my cousin in law (???) posted a "ignore and you love satan or like and you love jesus" thing on facebook.. that's what prompted this line of thought.

1) I read somewhere that people are living a good life, cause they're afraid of going to hell if they don't.

When you take the hell out of people's mind (those who believe in God and all...), you take their faith away.

2) But you could anways not notice this post at all :P

For some time now the facebook timeline is messed up and posts aren't viewed chronogically, even if you want them to be seen that way.

so...i've spent too much of my day thinking about this. it feels weird because for the past, what is it, two years? i've logged in to this site every day. you guys have been my support system, sometimes even my only friends within 500 miles.

from day 1, i never wanted to move to the US. i always wanted jonas to come to me. but first he wasn't ready to meet my family. then he wasn't ready career-wise. then he was just plain scared. yesterday, he bought tickets to visit singapore for two weeks in september. he's *finally* going to meet my parents.

honestly, i am so much happier in singapore in these few weeks than i've been in the US. i feel close to my family, my friends, my career is taking off again. i can't describe what makes it home, but it just is. i know you guys think i'm crazy for choosing to live apart from my husband, but he gets it. it's a compromise we've made together.

so...yeah...i don't like hearing my home trash talked, just as you didn't like me saying i didn't enjoy the USA. i don't think i've ever actually said the US is a bad place - it's just not for me (and just because you think differently doesn't mean i'm wrong). i will speak up for my home, just as you do for yours.

but i also get that this is an immigration site and most, if not all, of you are deeply proud of the country you live in, how you've made it here, the life you've built for yourselves. at the same time, i can't pretend it was a positive experience for me, even though mentioning that seems to open up a can of worms here. so, right now, what i really need is to find my way to an immigration to singapore website, to get my husband started on his permanent residency in my country.

and before i go, i just want to say thank you for all the encouragement, the listening ears, the shoulders to lean on, the advice (from cars, to recipes, to houses, to personal relationships, and beyond) and most importantly, the friendship. i couldn't have survived the last year without you guys. <3

tbone - i think its amazing that you can find a way to twist any sentence into a joke. you're a cat guy, and that automatically makes you cool in my eyes.

stretch - you're an inspiring lady, i have no idea how you have the energy to do all you do and still come on here and do your mod thing. keeping my fingers crossed for another hillbilly jr for you!

nola - i really hope baby is doing ok. if i do check in over the next few days, it'll be to look for your posts, in the meantime i'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending a whole load of positive vibes your way.

asia - you are one of the sweetest persons i know - may you get to attend every bsb concert out there!

merry - you've been the best reminder of home on the days i missed it the most, and your blunt humor never fails to crack me up

steve - you've given me amazing advice and been a great resource when i felt lost or unsure. thank you for the listening ear when i needed it most too.

nlr - i still haven't gotten my gaming-only desktop but many thanks again for your recommendations! i hope you get the car you've been talking about soon!

frenchy - always so mysterious...i will be in japan in december, maybe you can help me find the best authentic non-jew sushi place lol

if i missed anyone, well, you don't post often enough on the rant thread anymore and my brain is too frazzled after a long day of work to think back that far. :P hugs to all, and hey, never say never, maybe someday i'll find myself having to start a new timeline here. until then... :)

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

And, Brat. I didn't trash talk Singapore.

And I'm not trying to put it down.

They did a lot for a tiny island.

But what I said, is just facts.

It is, what it is.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Kit I'm sorry you feel like you are being attacked for leaving.

It took me 2 yrs to not want to move back and 3 yrs to call this place home and things are not all that different here I can only imagine how things were for you.

I could say so much more but I think you will not take it well, and it hurts me because I can see the train wreck and you can't.

All of us want you to be happy and you deserve that and we all hope you will find it.
