I've sent three things. Two fed express and both were lost. One good ole fashioned us postal service and it go there but almost didn't. He accidently bumped into the mail person (don't know what they call them there) when he was with his cousin. The mail person was asking his cousin if he knew who usama was.

Dont' know why I have so much trouble, but it could be because I put his first and last name on there. He said from now on put his first and second name.

BTW what ticks me off to no end is the fact that he had to PAY to receive my package!!! Can you freakin' believe that sh!t?????? It was our wedding album and a Valentine's day card and they made him pay 20 pounds to receive it! Freakin' corrupt country.

i understand, i am so sad that i sent a valentine and even A BACK UP VALENTINE, both have not arrived and I sent in JANUARY!!!! I want to send to wedding album, but I almost would rather pay the 1,000 dolars and bring it by hand. I duno what I would do if that were lost. Wish this process was not so complicated really.

I don't know exactly what it was called but I sent it global mail i think through the usps and i did a return receipt. He got it in 8 days even though they guaranteed 5 and I never got the receipt.

I sent him a letter in October via usps too. Went to the post office and the woman had me pay 80+ cents for a stamp and said it should be there in three to five days. HA.

All of the pkgs get opened before they arrive and I think the two things I sent previously got stolen. :crying:

I wonder if it has to do with where your SO lives. Mine lives in this alleyway where there are no numbers or anything.

I mean he doesn't literally live in the alley but it's not like you can drive up to the appt or anything. I wouldn't even know it was an appt building if he hadn't told me to come in.

I remember one package I sent after one of my trips to Egypt I sent in August 2005 and he never got it. I had sent him a shirt and a card so it wasn't a huge loss. April 2006 AFTER I had already made another trip to see him, he calls me to ask what kind of package I sent him! I told him I didn't send him a package....well....8 months later....there his shirt was!

It helps if you put the recipient's name and address in both English & Arabic because not all the mail handlers there can read English well. Also, don't forget to put your SO's cell number or home phone number.....if they can't find the apartment, they will call...... it happened once with my husband.....they called him & told him to there was a package waiting for him.

I-130

8/07/06 mailed I-130 to VSC

9/19/06 NOA1

12/15/06 NOA2

1/09/07 Packet 3 received from Cairo Embassy

2/12/07 Packet 3 returned to Cairo Embassy

Yep. Exactly. If you use FEDEX be sure they have contact info. I've sent rush and it was received on time in 4 days in Egypt. Moh lived in one of those alleyways too, but they always find them if they have a phone number. Now him sending me mail was another matter. So many lost letters and cards... blah.
