Posting for a friend.

My undocumented friend has been married for 3 years to a US citizen and they have a kid together. The wife wants to petition him but they have a few documents missing. The wife was born in Thailand and became a US citizen. She can no longer find her birth certificate. She called the Embassy and they said they have no way of getting it for her. What are her options?

The husbands problem is that he cant find his I-94 but his passport has a stamp that he went through immigration

Her options are to have someone she knows in Thailand obtain the birth certificate and mail it to her, she needs an original, certified copy. Embassies are not in the business of obtaining documents for people.

The passport stamp will likely serve as adequate proof of legal entry.
