Hello to everyone,

I have posted on this topic before, but at that time i was waiting to become citizen and send my proof to Embassy to upgrade my petition.

Now that I have sent already and it's been all most 3 weeks, I still have not received any letter from Bombay Embassy.

Can anybody please tell me would I or my benifisary be recieving anything from Embassay or they will directely send now Visa Packet.????

How long should I wait for inquiring..?? Should I email, call or write another letter..?????

My spouse and I both are so tired of waiting...! If anybody had gone through UPGRADING file Process please share your experiance..!!

All reply are kindly appreciated..!!!

I remember you writing about this before. I'm not sure why you notified just the Embassy--normally you would notify the NVC/National Visa Center.

Hey Meauxna..!!

U have great memory. Well, thanks for remembering my post and case.

I only mentioned about Embassy because my file was transfered from NVC to embassy in Oct. 2005.

NVC does not have my case and that is why they told me on phone not to send them. I still could have but i know what will be the answer from them so why even bother them.

On the US Consulate general of Mumbai's Web site I see many people r getting interview for their IR-1 cases. But no one wants to share their experiance. I gues..s....!!

Anyway..!

Once again thanks for your reply.

I don't think it a matter of "not wanting to share".. you are asking for people expereince as it relates to your specific situation.. it is very likley that most people are not in your situation and therefore can not share an experience they have not been in.

Most of the petitioners were USC's before starting the process.

In any case, I think your best option is to call or e-mail the embassy in question and ask where your case stands. If you say you've sent evidence of your citizenship to the embassy, ask if they have received it..

Good luck
